IMAX - Dream Big

Today the class went on a field tip to Science World! The students enjoyed the trip immensely and were very well behaved. During the trip the students worked together to invent "air machines." The instructor at Science World said she had never see a more creative group of students and that is partially due to the students practice "sciencing" this year. The students also had free time to explore Science World and watched a very interesting movie named "Dream Big."

Tomorrow is the last day before Spring Break! Lets have a party! Can every student please bring some food to share with the class? Mr. Hong and Mr. Redican are bringing some delicious food :).
1.) MATH:

Watch this video Intuition for Area of a Triangle
Remember the formula for finding the area of a triangle is Area = (Base x Height) / 2.
In your Math Focus textbook (page 204) complete questions 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9,13.
This is due on Friday.

2.) NOVEL APPROACH:

Make sure you have your "Book Clubs with Picture Books Predictions" sheet.
You will have more time to work on this tomorrow.

3.) SOCIAL STUDIES:

Research the Kinder Morgan Pipeline.
In your google doc write down 30 questions you have about this project.
Remember questions have to be ON TOPIC.
Remember questions that can be answered with a yes or a no are not good inquiry questions.

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

Science World was a great reminder about how much fun science should be.
We had lots of free time to run around and check out all the different stations at Science World.
Please tell the class your two favourite things about the trip to Science World.
And why you like these things?
If you didn't come to Science World - write three questions you have about our field trip, and the rest of the class will answer your questions.
Spelling and grammar are givens.

#1 My first thing is the ball thing that shoots out of tubes.

Firstly ,l liked it because me and Chance were having a competition to see who caught the balls first. Me and Chance were laughing because it was fun.

#2 I liked when we did the movie.

Secondly, I liked this because every time it moved the camera to a different scene the dome felt like we were moving in real life. Also because we got to learn about how to build buildings and it also helped us with construction. We also learned about china's tallest tower in shing hi.

I like the imax movie because the screen was so big. I also like the animal gallery because I saw a t.rex fossil.

The turbine thing was my favorite thing out of all of them. It was my favorite because we got to build stuff and create something that can spin really fast against wind.

The water balls was my second favorite thing out of them because we got to shoot and throw balls into the water. We also got to build a wall and do cool stuff with it.

I like the squeezing thingy like to test test you t grip is because it just looks cool.
I also like the bicycle riding because I could see how fast I could paddle like a dog and I can exercise on it.

Science world

I liked the Imax movie I liked it ,because of how big it was and It's around the whole top.

I liked the bike one because it made me tired and i twas hard to do.

I liked the IMAX short film and the food because it was really realistic and the food was delicious. I wanted to but more but I went broke for buying the Ultimate Spicy Crunch and also the fries which I shared with Shannon, and Jacob.

I liked The Lesson we did when we got there because we got to work with others and combine our creativity . And I liked the movie we watched . It was so cool! I loved all of it.

Two Things I like about TELUS WORLD of SCIENCE

I think one of my favourite parts about TELUS WORLD of SCIENCE is the paper fans because we got to find out ways to improve and work together

My second favourite thing about TELUS WORLD of SCIENCE is the wheel chair race because it is fun and you can realize what it feels like to be in a wheel chair

I don't know what I will bring or even or if I will bring something

One of the things that I like was the movie! The movie was really awesome and the big screen was really cool. I wish I could watch another movie with it. The other one I like was the one when we were making fans. I never expect Vera's and Jagger's we're a good one!

What I like about our fieldtrip to Science World is how their logic is "logical" in any sense. I Like it because it teaches us about somewhat physics in life. Another thing a liked about Science World was their poutine at Triple O's it was very delicious.

the movie was fun and educational because I love seeing how our world began and how it is now.
Number 2! Just looking around science world was fun to.

Oh yea I cant bring food tomorrow for 2 reasons.

I liked the place where you put a ball in a spits it out from the top. I like this because it's fun to try to catch the balls. I also liked the game where you ride a bike and the ball flots up in the air and your trying to get power ubove the red dot and I got it over in 9 seconds. I also liked the ride back on the sky train because it was funny when me and Logan were sitting at one side of the train and Ashley and jagger were sitting at the other side of the train but in the train in front of us, it was funny. We were talking using are phones because we could not here each other.

~Science World~
My two favorite things at the Science World trip was the games, like the squeeze thingy, and the wheelchair race. The second one was the movie. The screen was so big and wide! I enjoyed all of it because my friends were there (Except for Dotta) also, because we all learned a lot of things.

There were so many things novel and exciting to discover during my first ever trip to Science world!🔮🚀👍🏼👩🏼‍🔬 my most favourite thing was the gaming arena🎰.I had loads of fun playing these interactive games.My second most favourite activity was making the paper fans as it was a great team work which also gave me a chance of bonding with my wonderful new classmates👫❤️!
