The Final Phase of the Novel Approach

Today, it was back to business. Students arrived on time and were super self-regulated in their learning today. We started off the day with some 'Read to Self' time followed by a class meeting to review the expectations of all students for the final term. Students will take more ownership and responsibility over their learning this term to prepare them for high school! GO GET IT!

LEARNING:
1.) MATH:

Complete 4 pages of algebra (single variables and expressions) if you did not complete them in class.
Mark and correct at home.

2.) POST A RESPONSE:
LEARNING INTENTION: I can write a structured paragraph about what I did on spring break.
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
a.) Structured paragraph format (intro, body, conclusion)
b.) Includes at least 2-3 supporting points/details/examples
c.) Conventions/Givens (spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation)
d.) Ask 2 students a questions about their spring break paragraphs.
e.) Edit/revise your paragraph based on your self-assessment of the above criteria.

The spring break was finish. I can’t sleep to whenever I want anymore! But luckily is, I can play with my friend everyday now! I know the spring break was finish but actually I always looking forward for the school start. It’s definitely not because I like to learning. It’s because I can’t go anywhere at the spring break. At the spring break, I stay at home for the most of time because of the stupid COVID-19. Sometimes. I will be played badminton with my dad when it’s sunny at the oak park. It was really fun. I believe my skill of badminton will improve at I can play very well at GYM! I just said I stayed at home for most of time at spring break. Do you want to know what I did at spring break (You can say NO cause’ I have to do my homework lol)? When I stayed at home. I always watched TV and sometimes do the handmake. I won’t talk about watch TV because everyone knows what’s the person who watch TV looks like. Let me talk about the handmake. It always happy time when I was making the handmake. This spring break, I make a villa by the color paper. There is a big kitchen, a living room, a hall, and a second bedroom. I just finished for the first floor so I’m designing how to build the second floor now. I can bring it to school to show your guys if there a opportunity. That’s my spring break. It’s not much but I still spend a happy holiday!

Even though it may seem as if 2021 just started, we are already past spring break. I did a few things over the last 2 weeks, and some of them were actually interesting, believe it or not. I went snowshoeing at Grouse Mountain with my family, which was fun, and ate Burger King after that. I spent a lot of time watching reviews of various Nerf blasters, as I recently discovered the world of non-Nerf brand blasters. The people who make these have less regard for safety, so the blasters are a lot more fun to use. I ordered the Caliburn, which is a homemade blaster whose maker lets you pick the strength. My dad made me choose the weakest one, but it's still a little more powerful han anything I own right now. That's pretty much my spring break in a nutshell, and I look forward to reading about yours!

As you look out your windows, you can see flowers blossoming on the trees; and a summer breeze is passing by as Spring break if over. Although celebrating Spring break, and allowing ourselves to take a break, and fully relax may have been difficult throughout this time of Covid, there are still many ways to enjoy ourselves. With this in mind, during my Spring break, I stayed home most of the time; Iused most of my time with my family and my Uncle, we also my celebrated my mom's birthday by making a strawberry cheesecake. I also frequently visited the bookstore, widening my collection. Moreover, I also finally got around to cleaning a pile of clothes that had fallen off my shelves quite a while ago, which led me to cleaning my entire room. Additionally, I called my friends from Hong Kong every night and we played games while binging anime together. As a result, I found Spring break very enjoyable and was sad for it to end but I am certainly excited for Summer to begin and to be able to be back with my friends at school.

What did you do in spring break? Well, in my case, I went to a Chinese restaurant called the Kirin with my family, and one of the foods I ate there called, a "Peking Duck" was delicious. It was a pretty interesting experience for me because other than this, I only been to this restaurant once. Another experience I had during spring break was getting a new video game. This game had a high price, but there was an 20% off deal that time, so my parents consented me to buy it. In conclusion, spring break was fun this year.

What would you do if you had a whole 2 weeks without school? Would you chill at home? Would you take advantage of the time and go out? I mostly chilled at home. For the first coupe of weeks I stayed home a read, played video games, and watched tv, I wasn't very productive. Eventually me and my sister decided to build a 1000 piece puzzle, which I enjoyed. On top of that I went shopping for a new bike, but sadly I wasn't able to find one. Although my spring break wasn't that interesting, I still had fun, and am appreciative of the time I could spend chilling.

Spring Break. Whats more to say? It gives a nice break from school and a chance to go and do something that you wouldn’t have the time to during school weeks. I spent my time visiting family and now I have to self isolate so that if I have the dreaded Rona Virus, no one else will get it. I also did lots of sleeping. I like having breaks from school every now and then. They should be more frequent.

How do you feel about Spring break? Do you enjoy it? Having two weeks all to yourself and finally being able to take a break from school. For most Spring breaks I would usually spend a lot of time with my family, however this year is different due to Covid restrictions and so we couldn’t hang out as often. And my parents have been really busy during these past few weeks working overtime so I couldn’t spend much time with them either. So because of this, I went out with my auntie and we brought ice cream, candy, new clothes and groceries on the weekends whenever she was available. Although for most of the days of Spring break, I stayed home and relaxed by doing the things that I love, such as going on my phone, drawing, reading, eating, watching my favourite shows, playing video games, etc. And I occasionally exercised because i wanted to stay healthy and because my parents forced me too. In addition, I also had a few online classes because I wanted to make sure I was still on track and still practicing because I may of forgotten some things from school over the past weeks. Overall, this year’s Spring break was different from the other years, however I can still say that I had a good time and enjoyed these two weeks while it lasted.

I would wake up and go about my day, every once in a wile I would get a call from my mom or dad just to checking in to see how things were going and remind me of chores. Most of the time I was on my phone chatting with friends or cleaning up and doing chores. So the week days were all the same and boring. Until one of those week days my dad comes back from work and onto his computer, were he found out that it had burned. That computer had been around for over six years and it worked surprisingly well for its age. Due to that my parents bought another computer, and it has many differences from looks to performance.
Other then that, I played some videogames during the weekend ends. I had gotten bored of the old games I played, and during the week i had been reminded of a game that i had gotten about 2 months ago in a sale. ARK, this game is like Minecraft but has much better graphics and has many more creatures, mainly being dinosaurs. I have now tried the game and after playing for about 2 hours total, I have noticed that what makes this game fun is how unpredictable it is, especially how broken every A.I. is in this game. That was all that happen during those two weeks, it wasn't perfect, it wasn't worth it, but it it wasn't bad.

Spring break had just ended! Two whole weeks to relax and have fun, you must have done something over the spring break right? As for me, the start of my spring break was pretty simple. I watched many youtube videos and my brother taught me how to make fried noodles. My mother also prepared various dishes for us and we made our own sticky rice which is basically side dishes like daikon, sausages, eggs etc. wrapped into a roll of rice. My second week of spring break was a bit more exciting. I built a mini bedroom from a kit I bought from China 3 years ago that contains, a bed you have to make, a table, etc. My brothers and I also spent time with each other by playing a game called "Smash Bros" on the tv. I wasn't good at it but it was still entertaining. Despite COVID-19 and not being able to go to the malls or anything with social gatherings, I still had a great spring break and I was a bit sad that it was school started again... Other than my spring break, what did you do on your spring break?

My spring break was relaxing and I am disappointed to see it end. During my break, my family and I went out to hike at Beaver Lake in Stanley Park. It was fun because we got to see some animals such as ducks, turtles, and chipmunks roaming around the lake. We also went hiking at other places such as Garry Point Park in Steveston. I spent most of my break at home browsing the internet, eating, watching TV, and doing the things that I usually do. Overall, my spring break was pretty relaxing but sadly, it ended.

Although COVID has ruined many vacation plans, I still had fun. For example, I went snowboarding on groucemountain. I had never snowboarded before and one of my dad's friends had advised ground for beginners so we ended up going. I had lots of and roughly how to snowboard. Other than that I had no special activities. Although this break was dull, I look forward to the summer vacation.

What did I do on spring break while a pandemic is happening? It was really interesting and much more fun in the first week. Because I went to Kelowna with my family (it was sad leaving our dog behind but she got to stay at our grandpa's house) in a 5-6 hour drive and stayed there for an entire week, I did many activities there such as skiing in Big White (A giant ski & snowboarding place), walking on a frozen lake at the cabin we stayed in, and watching movies (they were on DVD). I ended up sleeping on a top bunk and my brothers were on the bottom bunk (I was really annoyed because they kept on poking at the mattress that was held up by the frame), my parents got their own separate room along with my sister who also got a seperate room too. It was a good time staying at Kelowna and we left at Friday. The second week I was playing lots of video games and looking at star wars Lego sets that were interesting, I found a set that I wanted to get so later on I told my parents about a Lego set (The set was number 75280 the 501st clone troopers or what the fans call it, the 501st clone trooper battle pack) I wanted to buy for my birthday (its on July 17, about 4 months until my B-day) and they said if I got it, I would need to wait for my B-day, I did end up wanting 2 of them, since they have no main characters but lots of the same characters that are really cool if you get multiple sets. I went to my grandpa's house to see my Aunt, uncle, their 2 dogs (Bao Bao and Co Co), and my grandpa. I wanted one more Lego set that was also star wars (the Resistance I-TS transport from one of the Disney World Galaxy's edge rides, I never went to that place but at least Lego made at set based of of one of the rides) I told my aunt about it when I was searching for a different lego set, since I originally want to get many of the 501st clone trooper sets but thats when i saw the set and wanted to get it, I showed it to her and she said that it was ok and she would buy for my on my birthday using her money combined with the money I would get from my grandpa on my birthday (my mom order the sets that I wanted to get from her and my dad 1 day after telling my aunt about the set that I wanted from her and my uncle). Even though Covid-19 threatens the world, I was still able to have fun with my family including our dog while staying healthy and hydrated.

What did I do during spring break? not much. It wasn't interesting for the first week. I just ate, play terraria and other games then go outside then sleep. Same for week two until Sunday, I just slept through most of the day then cleaned my 3ds the hour after I woke up.

Did you enjoy Spring break? Event though these past years have been very different from others, I still thought that this Spring Break was still as awesome as the previous years. The last 2 weeks, I've been playing basketball everyday at Jamison Elementary. Even though basketball isn't my ideal sport, I think I still enjoyed it because of how the coach's taught with enthusiasm and excitement! Aside from basketball, our family still had plenty of exciting things we did at home! During the first week of Spring Break our family tried to bake a Lemon Loaf that my sister found on Insta. However, we weren't able to try the loaf because it wasn't baked long enough. During the weekends, our family went to malls and bought new cloths, food/junk food, stationary, etc. Even though our family couldn't have the chance to go on a trip this Spring Break, my dad drove us to somewhere for like 3 hours straight, After the ride, I was so tired that I slept at around 3pm and woke up at 4am in the morning. Overall, even though I didn't have any highlights to share, I still think that it was a pretty relaxing break from school.

During the spring break, my mom made us do a few pages of stuff like math and LA every day. I don’t mind though. It is something to do that is NOT on a screen. I also read a bit. Throughout the break, I finished nearly 5 books. While we were on break, we visited our grandparents several times. When we visit, we never go inside. We always stay outside and play with their dog Yogi. It is safer this way. Last time we visited, we noticed that our grandpa had built a trap. He told us that he wanted to catch these two birds. He said he wants to catch them and breed them. I think this is an... interesting idea. His trap is a cage with a door that swings up. He has seeds inside of the cage. There is a stick that props up the door, and a string attached to that stick. Then the string feeds into the closest window. He told us that he had caught the male, but let it go because he didn’t want the female to get scared and not come back. In those two weeks that you are on break, remember to do things that are NOT on a screen. It’s just two weeks. Surely you have things you can do.

Trying something new for a new term. Over spring break, the one time that marks the last term of grade 7. I decided to try a lot of brand new things. Firstly I made 2 Lego sets. I've been doing legos for probably as long as I remember. Therefore over spring break, I first finished the last project I've been working on which was the Nintendo T.V. one. That was pretty awesome when I finished it since it was apparently 18+. Then the geek I was I started a harry Potter mural. That took the first half of my spring break. Then My mom made me do 2 new spring camps. One for worlds school style debate and one to continue working on my Vex robotics competition. The rest of spring break was me binge-watching a lot of different twitch and youtube streamers. There I tried watching a few new people that I would probably never watch. Thats what I did for my spring break. I hope to do funner and better things in summer to mark the beginning of grade 8.

Think about how you would feel if you just got a 2-week break, it would be awesome! I just recently had spring break, it was fun and was sad to see it end, but summer break will be coming soon so I just have to wait. To be honest, I was on my computer a lot during spring break. Every morning I was just get on my computer and talk to some of my friends. Other than spending most of my time on my computer, my family and some friends went snow tubing at cypress which was pretty fun. I also had a dance that I needed to do for my church. Due to Covid, our church couldn’t have an easter service, so they decided to make an online service. It would be live, but they would also show some videos. So basically, our church got us to dance in the place where pastors speak, and a girl would say a paper on Easter and how Jesus rose again. I got so tired and wanted to faint but I managed to get through breakdancing for so long. I guess it all turned out well but I still haven't seen the results of the actual video. I guess I did go snowboarding but that’s what everyone did. That’s about my entire spring break. I told you how my spring break went, now it's time to tell me yours!

spring break was amazing. A.) I could sleep when ever I wanted, B.) I could wake up whenever i wanted, C.) I could stay inside all day, and the list goes on. But the main thing I did was created a huge drawing in just black and white. The hardest part was probably measuring everything to make sure it is even and it lines up with the rest of the body. There was no easy part. Over all i made a large drawing and hope to continue to do so and I already miss spring break.

Spring break is now over, and schools are in session. Your teachers will ask, "What did you do in Spring Break?" You might say "nothing" or "stay home" or "games", but I will tell you what I did in Spring Break that's none of these three. The thing that stood out to me the most in Spring Break this year was that we rearranged our living room and our bedroom. We moved most of the furniture in the living room. It was very tiring because we moved lots of heavy things and my sister helped only a little bit. The next day after we moved the furniture in the living room, we rearranged the bedroom. It was harder for us to rearrange the bedroom because me and my mom only helped. My dad had some work to do, but my sister didn't HELP AGAIN! What did you do in Spring Break?

Most people’s spring breaks are normally eventful, but now since covid, our breaks have been different. I didn’t really do a lot since stuff was closed down but I started playing a game called Genshin Impact, its a game where you and your sibling have been separated across a world and you have to find them (it’s way more complicated than that but that’s the simple explanation). I didn’t really do a lot after that, did you do more stuff?

We all had the same amount of time for spring break, but we all did different things in it. You might be wondering, what did I do? Well to start of I studied a little of chemistry and how atoms arrange themselves, then I learned a lot of things about the neurological system and the digestive system through Youtube by a Youtuber named 'chubbyemu'. I also watched a lot of Dhar Mann videos, inspriational content that tells a story and has a moral for each one. I definitely played a lot of games during spring break. I played a Roblox game called 'Loomian Legacy' which is a Pokémon ripoff but it's a really good one, spent a lot of time grinding. I also played a lot of Minecraft with my brother; it was his birthday or the 23rd. So overall I played more than I studied by a ratio of what I feel like is 75:25, though I tried to learn something new if I find an interesting video. Anyways, a new Dhar Mann video is coming out later today at 5 PM, cant cant it!

Spring Break, let me guess. We all played video games! What do people expect when they ask eachother: "how was your spring break?". Well dont expect much from me because my spring break was just..As normal as it can be during the pandemic. So i mostly spent inside and painted my room, went outside and played sports for fun. And that was it, it came as fast as it goes.

Everyone here has been unproductive for a while, that’s right, this year was my most unproductive year for spring break. To start off, already had taken a week off earlier than the others just to take precautions with the news of coronavirus. I had gotten used to the change already so as spring break approached, I was ready to watch all the movies and episodes I didn’t find time before. The days were more blurs of actions automatically done. Though, one event I clearly remember is the day before coming back to school where the 30 ft tree right on the right side of our house had fallen straight across the neighbour and our house instead of directly towards us the moment I plopped a chestnut in my mouth. Since it had fallen it hit both of our gutters, but I'm honestly surprised at how little damage it caused. In fact, the feeling and sound sounded like some rumbling of titans as of from ‘Attack on Titan’ was right at my door. In contrast, I got a bag of markers I used to colour in which I don’t get the chance to so I’m excited on that. Despite the diffrences in events I would both undoubtedly want to experience the feeling had when it first occurred. The spring break of these past two years have been... refreshing to say the least, new memories with new challenges that are defintly taking away my breath.

Can you believe spring break just past and there are only 12 weeks till summer? It's scary how fast grade seven is flying through. On that note it is always important to hold on to special memories. For example what we did in spring break. Although it's been difficult to fill our days with fun I was still able to enjoy the break. Firstly, I went for walks with my mom. For the purpose of, taking pictures of the gorgeous cherry blossoms in the neighbourhood. After that we went to a nice tea shop and had fancy scones and tea. Secondly, my brother and I sang again in worship at my church. However, it was quite frustrating because I messed up a bit, but all in all it matters to just do your best. Lastly, I hung out with my friend I hadn't seen in some time. We got donuts from Luckys and went to thrift stores and malls together. Overall THis spring break was good but I'm glad to be back at school.

It’s already the end of spring break and now this is about half way to grade eight which means high-school is right around the corner, because of COVID and all many things that I wanted to do in the two weeks have been closed for a while now, how ever the things I’ll be typing about of what has happened to me when spring break happened. The first thing is about “what has happened to me on the first weekend” every two weeks I visit my grandparents in Coquitlam, the only thing I did there was just play video games most of the time and also talk to my friends online. When I came back home I would normally do shopping with my mom and then it repeats till the end of spring break. So to say because of COVID-19 it been pretty boring .

Summer break was good for the time to have with my online friends, and with stuff that I want to do. Then knowing my parents they kept on little by little ow the outside and in 2 separate day's forced us out. Then with all my time in a game one friend was too obsessed with a game so me and the other separated from him for 2-4 days. During all of that I got the game cyberpunk so I have an excuse to not play with them. But now because we did that he is less entrenched in that game and more interested in "better games". Now with the other stuff that I got to go to the sort of Irish restaurant and a couple days before to a mall. Then with all of that with it's a different portions it was a pretty nice, 2 weeks.
