Collaboration at work!

Today, students learned about 'ACTION PAINTING' and Jackson Pollock. Tomorrow, we will start our Jackson Pollock inspired canvas paintings. We learned several different techniques today on how to create interesting designs. For example, using yarn, brushes, syringes, etc to create the desired effect! The Grade 6/7 students and their buddies form Mrs. Nowotny's class are all looking forward to creating their masterpieces tomorrow!

IMPORTANT:

Be sure to bring an old shirt and pants to school tomorrow! We will start our Jackson Pollock painting lesson tomorrow and you don't want to get your school clothes dirty! Parents, if you could provide your child with one of your old shirts, it should be good enough for our painting lesson.
SOCIAL MEDIA FORM - Parents, please sign and return this by tomorrow.

1.) ART: Bring an big old shirt and pants that you don't need. You will get paint on yourself tomorrow!

2.) MATH 6:

Chapter 3 Lesson 7 and 8 worksheet on INTEGERS.
Pg 92 #1-4
Pg 96-97 #1-7

MIDDLETON MATH 7: Complete pg 29 all odd questions and worksheet.
WILSON MATH 7: Pg. 37-38 #6,7, and 10.

3.) DIGITAL ART: Try to complete yesterday's post a response activity. You will learn how to use the different functions tomorrow. Don't worry if you are unable to figure it out.

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

Today, you dove right into your Social Studies project and worked collaboratively with one another to come up with your roles/responsibilities, some research, and your ideas of how you want to present your research!
Don't forget to follow the guidelines outlined on your handout (paper version to be handed out tomorrow)
Feel free to use the National Post article as one of your sources of information. It is well organized and has different sub-sections that you can research from.
For your post a response today, write a detailed explaination of the following:

   1.) Today, I worked with others to achieve a common goal. I did my share by… (provide specific
   examples) If you don't think you worked well with your group, explain why.
   2.) Today, I took on a role or responsibility in my group by… (provide specific examples)
   3.) Today, my group and I.....(explain exactly what you and your group accomplished today)

Continue research on your shared document with your group members (Google Drive)
Edit/revise your post.

Today I worked collaborately In my group (Liberals) by writing my lines and thinking of some details that we are doing in our interview. My role is the interviewer/host, Frank. We acomplished a lot and all we have left is one persons response. I think that Mr. Hangs choice of people in a group worked perfectly, because we acomplished almost everything.

Today I worked collaboratley with my group on Conservitives. For our presntation we are doing a weebly website we didnt acomplish a lot today because we were spending more time on making the weebly website then we should have been thinking of roles. I am ashamied of my self because I shouldve done more things to help with getting the roles and ideas then i shouldve but thats what happens and thats the conscuences.

Today my group the NDP's and my group and I were working on getting roles and how we were going to present it. We ended up doing a news show at my house we need a mic, a HD camera and tripod, a paper with all the info and what to say, and a table and 2 chairs. I was the recorder and I was working on the time we meet at to record. We are almost done all we have to do is the skit and recording

Today my group and I researched on the Green Party. I learned a lot of things the Green Party stands that I probably wouldn't have took interest in searching on before. Such as the Green Party wants to wipe out all the college and university tuition. Overall I think we did a pretty good job but maybe not have talked so much.

My group and I are supporting the NDP party.
I did my share by sharing my ideas and my opinion on what we should do our political assignments in the form of. I was responsible when my group couldn't decide what the format should be I suggested a compromise.My group got quite a bit done including...
-roles
-props
-we got a few ideas out on paper
-we also wrote down our sources.
I am very excited to work with my group tomorrow.

My group is the NDP party.
Our group accomplished quite a lot during or block such as:
- suggestions
-props
-we wrote down our sources such as: National post,CBC news and the undecided websites about the NDP party.
-We also wrote out some of our ideas.
Our group has decided to do a news article.
I have gave the group some cool ideas for the credits.
I think that our group has worked very well together and we have worked collabritivley together.
I am excited to be working on it for tomorrow.

Today I did my share by researching things that we could put into our project and give everyone there roles. The role I took was Justin Trudeau. Mr.Hong must have picked the groups really well because today we almost finished our whole script! We just need to add some little things to it.

@ Julio, great job on your post. It sounds like your group is on a role and getting stuff done really well. One suggestion I have for your post is that you add a little more detail and maybe add a cool hook and outdo sentence. Otherwise great job. Also here's one question for you, are you in a the Green Party Group?

Today, I did my share by starting the group project and making the website to start with. Today, I took the role of lead website designer while the rest of the people in my group where working on our document and research. Today my group and I got the website up and running and got some research from the national post and assigned everyone roles so that we have a good foundation for the other days we can build open and make it really cool looking professional website like the national post which I think will be really cool to make!

Today I learned that I was part of the GREEN PARTY group! We all worked together and have most of our research done already! ( I think...) We all are pretty good friends and work well together! Most of the time... I agree with Julio on Mr. Hong picking groups right. I think we will get this done soon. We are doing an Animoto slideshow/video, and a document from Google Docs with info. I think we did pretty good following instruction wise, and getting work done. We don't have a leader yet, but I'm hoping its someone good at organizing and loves the environment, like, not pointing fingers, but Annabeth. I hope everyone ends up looooooving our slide.

"Breaking news about Elections Canada ." This is a news report like what my group is doing for our project. Today I was voted to be the leader of our group which does not mean to much. I am just supposed to take care of the Google Doc and help get everything order like what each person is going to do, working out problems, and setting up dates and stuff like that. I did my share by creating the Google document and adding everyone to it, creating a compromise because are group was split in half with doing a commercial and news article so I said that we could do a News show, and adding a lot off ideas and comments to our Google doc. Today the role I took was being a news anchor for our commercial. Outside of the project I am the leader but like I already explained not really and all of us are pitching in with different parts of the project. For example, researching, writing, and making props. Today my group and came up with our whole game plan of what we are going. To be more specific, we filled up our Google doc with ideas, props, and roles. We are even meeting on Saturday at someone's house to keep working and maybe even start filming. So now you know how my group is doing with our project and to me, we have a good start. So thanks for reading my post. I hope all of you are having as much fun on these projects as I am!

Today I worked with my group on the Green Party. At the beginning we did not work collaboratively, since some of us wanted a slideshow and the rest wanted a video. Then we compromised and choose Animoto, which is a video slideshow! We got a lot of research done, and also have a way of communication outside of school. We all did researching today, but as we get further in, we will each take a bigger role. We learned that the Green Party has a youth group, like a mini way of campaigning, called "Young Greens of Canada" This is going to be a fun project! GO GREEN!!!!!!

Today in my group we were working very collaboratively(Myles was scolding me for typing wrong) so pretty much everyone has there roles i am Joël Lightbound and i say"A one-child family with an income of $90,000 will get $3,245 per year but, compared to $2,125 under the Conservative program. Families with combined incomes of $200,000 will get nothing. So I believe that our decision to cut Child Care Benefits is a good one". That was copied straght out of google docs and i think that the conservatives are good because they want to lower taxes for the average canadian. And that is my review for the liberals VOTE LIBERALS. (And purple for class debate☺)

my group was in the NDP we Brainstormed how we are going to put all our Research
Together . we We talked about news article, Commercial and a poster .We decided to do a commercial at the end we going to do credits at the end.We're talking about how are commercial is going to look like. and we're going to be filming it and at the end we're going to have credits.

🎵We will we will beat you "clap"beat you"clap"🎵. Today at school we worked on our news report which was a little bit hard but it turned out to be a pretty good group session. The first thing we did is pick the leader of the group which wasn't to hard because Brooke was the only person who wanted to be the leader but that was a good decision because she managed the pretty well. After that Brooke made group document and then things didn't go so well because people were typing on the document and it went a little bit out of control but after it was ok and one person was typing. Then the hard part came which was choosing how were are going to represent the NDP. Half of us wanted a news letter and the other half wanted a commercial but after a couple minutes we finally decided that we were going to do a news report. Today I was writing down all the things that the NDP are going to do for us and I was giving suggestions. Later someone said where are we going to film it and I quickly said no and said my house is to messy. Finally we all agreed on the idea and we are doing a news report with someone dressed as Mon Claire and someone dressed as Elizibeth May. Today wasn't that progresive but we got the main setting done so thats one step into the whole newes report.

Today my group and I tried out hardest to make a good preasentation to suport the Liberals. I think that we all did our fair share, because most of us already knew each other and worked well together, and for some of us it was the time working together, but we made a pretty good party. What I did to do my fair share was I helped writing the script that we are going to preasent, I tried to incorperate everyones ideas and tried my best to research and create ideas with everyone. Also, I took responsibility for myself by trying my best to stay on task, and when my group would ger off topic I would try my best to get them on task. Lastly, my group got lots accomplished. We all had very similar ideas, and were able write a script about an interview with the Liberals and some of their representitives of the small cities. Before I end this I would like to ask you, do you think Justin Trudeau is not ready? How do you know he's not? If he is not ready why do you think he was elected to be the leader of the Liberals?

Yesterday my group Green Party worked collaborative together to find out green actually won in a riding were Elisabeth may lives Thayer want to wipe out collage tuition.2% people voted for us on the polls
