1.) SPORTS DAY IS TOMORROW - Make sure you wear your team colours! You will be dismissed at 1:30pm tomorrow. Make sure your parents know! :)

2.) ART - Continue working on the small details and feel free to start colouring your sketches with pixlr. Remember, you have to zoom in to ensure your lines are smooth and all the white space is erased. If you have any questions, post it here so someone from the class can answer it for you.

3.) POST A RESPONSE (SCIENCE) - List at least 4 biotic and 4 abiotic components of a 'COMMUNITY' within an ecosystem. Also, describe a detailed interaction between one biotic and abiotic factor.

4 abiotic organisums grass, pond, dead branches, and sun light and 4 biotic organisums birds, insects, trees, and raccoons. A interaction is between birds and the trees the birds nest in and sit on the trees and the trees provide shelter and a place to lay their eggs.

1) Tree and Soil. The tree is biotic the soil is abiotic.
2) Worm and Soil. The worm is biotic the soil is abiotic.
3) Plant and Soil. The plant is biotic the soil is abiotic.
4) Fish and Water. The fish is biotic the water is abiotic.

An interaction could be between the tree and soil. The tree holds the soil and prevents erosion to the soil. The soil gives the tree nutrients and that makes the tree survive. The soil also holds the roots of the tree.

An interaction between the bird and the dead branches is that the bird can use the branches to build a safe place to live. Also Without the branches the bird would be unable to make a place to keep her young.

a interaction between the tree and the air is that the trees take in the oxygen and then they give us carbiondioxide.

Biotic Abiotic
worms and soil
water and fish
trees and soil
plants and sunlight

An interaction between plants and sunlight is that the sunlight produced from the sun is converted by plants to help them grow, and without the sunlight the plants would not be able to grow and give us humans air and shade.

1 - Earth worms & Dirt. The worms are biotic & the dirt is abiotic
2 - Flowers & water. The flowers are biotic & the water is abiotic
3 - Ants & sand. The ants are biotic & the sand is abiotic
4 - Weeds & sun. The weeds are biotic & the sun abiotic

An interaction In the garden ecosystem is between the earth worm & the soil. The soil is a habitat for the earth worm & keeps it safe & cool.

Hello Oreo! I thought your example was good, because it showed that you were paying attention to class. Although, I think you should work on it a bit more, just to make it even better. Somethings I think you should fix are: put capitals where capitals are needed, change & to and, because we're writing full sentence, and be a bit more detailed. Have an amazing day! :D

Here are 8 biotic (left) and abotic (right) components:
1. Megapodes and decaying life/sand/sunlight
2. Moles and soil
3. Manta Rays and water
4. Maple Trees and sunlight
(I like the letter ‘M’)

An example of biotic and aboitic interaction, is between the Megapodes and decaying plants and animals, or sand, or, sometimes it uses geothermal heat. The Megapode makes their nests in heaps of compost, with a layer of sand over top. They use it to insulate their nests to let the eggs hatch, use the sunlight to heat up the eggs inside. But some of the birds use geothermal heat, to warm their eggs.

Also, I researched the snake venom things, and some people become immune, but never completely. Others just keel over the second time they’re bitten. But also, it depends on what species of snake bites you, how much venom is released into your body, and if you get to a doctor quickly. There are many variables involved. I’m not sure, but I think my research was sufficient enough. ;) Have a great day Mr.Hong.

@ Ammit - Great work! I'm glad you were inspired to learn today! Nothing new, eh? ;) You and the other students have been coming up with some great questions and you have all been thinking critically! I am so impressed with how far along your research skills have come this year!

Just curious, where did you find your information? Did your sources pass the reliability test?

I got some of my information for wiki, and some from a National Geographic book I have about snake venom. I also took a bit of my knowledge that I've gotten previously, and from my brother (He recently did a project about snakes venom.) So yes, I think my sources are reliable. ;D

The interaction between plants and sun is that the plants turn Carbon Dioxide and water into food using energy from sunlight. (This process is called 'photosynthesis') Anyway, the plants turn Carbon Dioxide into oxygen and help humans.

The wand tool lets you highlight an area of the same colour, and you can move that area around. In addition to that, You can only colour inside the shape that's highlighted. If you don't understand what I'm trying to say, just play around with it on an experiment picture.

Lizards and Sunlight is a good interaction, because the sunlight provides warmth for the lizard to keep moving. Also without the sun the lizard would not be able to keep gooing on in life.

Can snake bites kill you on the second bite? Mr. Hong like Ammit said it would matter on the amount of venom, snake, and other reasons. Also if it was the same snake that bit you, the precent is 50/50 it could go either death or live through it.

BIOTIC - ABIOTIC

1.) Flowers - Sunlight

5.) Katniss - Soccer Field.

Fish are biotic, and water is abiotic. They both interact, how? Well, the water provides the fish with shelter, and food! However, if fish didn't have water, then you would most likely see plenty of fish floppping on the ground!

Plants and sunlight interact (plant being biotic and sunlight being abiotic) by the sun giving it life becuse a plants need sunlight in order to survive it is almost like the sun is food to the plants and water is water to the plants because living orgnimis need 4 things to survive water, shelter, food, and most important air.

I liked your example, however, I think you could add some more detail. Also, just a note but birds only make nests to care for their eggs. Otherwise they just sleep in random trees, sometimes just on the group for flightless birds, and some other species.;)

(1.) Water and a shark: Shark biotic, water abiotic.
(2.) Soil and a mole: a mole is biotic, and soil is abiotic.
(3.) Worm and soil: soil is abiotic and worm is biotic.
(4.) Bugs and soil: soil is abiotic, and bugs are biotic.

Water and a shark are two things that interact with each other they interact because the water is the sharks habitat although the water is abiotic and the shark is biotic. Also they interact with each other because if the shark wasn't in water than the shark would die there for water to a shark is like there food, water, and shelter.

Four biotic parts of an forest environment would be:
1) Rabbits
2) Trees
3) Grass
4) Foxes

Four abiotic parts of an environment would be:
1) Air
2) Dirt
3) Rocks
4) Water (in a stream or pond)

Both the foxes and the rabbits interact with the water by drinking it. They do this to stay hydrated. The grass and trees also "drink" or absorb the water so that they can grow and become healthy.

4.) Trees- biotic, sunlight- abiotic

You want to make your tree grow, but it needs plenty of things to make it grow and water is one thing. Its funny how a non- living organism helps keep the living organism alive. The water interacts with the tree as soon as you pour it, and then the roots start growing thus, making it grow. If the tree didnt have water it could not stay hydrated, therefore ending the life a tree. :)
