MATH ASSESSMENT TOMORROW

Today the students shared their math knowledge by creating math videos using iMovie, Educreations, and/or Book Creator. The students were very engaged in this task and came up with very creative and comprehensive ways to express their learning. The students also showed great cooperative skills by working very well in groups.

1.) MATH:

Assessment/quiz tomorrow
Mr. Redican will update the website shortly with what you have to review.

2.) Language Arts/Novel Approach:

Focus on your introduction - inviting lead today/hook.
Watch this video for ideas of how you can edit/revise your hook!
Edit/revise your powerful response so you have a really interesting hook which will make your reader want to read your powerful response. Use one of the options that are reviewed in this video. You learned about these types of hooks in term 1.
Your homework will be checked in class tomorrow.

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

Tomorrow the students have a assessment on triangles and quadrilaterals
Be sure to review:
- The three types of triangles (acute, right, and obtuse)
- How to find the third angle of a triangle if you know two angles
- The five types of quadrilaterals (square, rectangle, rhombus, trapezoid, parallelogram)
- How to find the fourth angle of a quadrilateral if you know three angles
Post your answer to any of the above questions for the math assessment tomorrow.
- For example: an acute triangle is defined as a triangle that has three acute interior angles
- Another example: to find the third interior angle of triangle my first step is I add the two know interior angles and my second step is I subtract that answer from 180 degrees.
Give two students feedback on their answers to make sure they're getting the correct answers
Think of today's PAR as a group study!
ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE AND I WILL RESPOND TONIGHT - I want everyone to ace this assessment!

@DavidR you have a math assessment tomorrow. Think of todays PAR as a groups study!

- You could define one of the three types of triangles (acute, right, and obtuse).

- You could explain how to find the third interior angle of a triangle if you know two interior angles (look at my example of this).

- You could define one of the five types of quadrilaterals (square, rectangle, rhombus, trapezoid, parallelogram).

- You could explain how to find the fourth interior angle of a quadrilateral if you already know three interior angles.

Acute triangle is a triangle that has all acute angles in the interior.

Obtuse triangle is a triangle that one of it's interior angle is an obtuse angle.

Right angle is a triangle that one of it's interior angle is a right angle.

An acute triangle has 3 acute angles that are lees than 90 degrees.

Obtuse triangle:

Obtuse triangle has one obtuse angle that's higher than 90 degrees and two acute angles.

Right Triangle:

the right triangle has one angle that is equal to 90 degrees.

How To Find The Third Angle Of A Triangle

1.) Firstly, add up the two numbers.
2.) Secondly, solve it and you got the answer! (It's not the final answer yet though!)
3.) Thirdly, subtract the ANSWER from 180 degrees. You know why it's always 180? Go to this website to know why:

4.) Finally, after you subtract it, that's the FINAL answer! YAY! :D

All the interior angles equal less then 90 degrees.
Obtuse Triangle
One interior angle is more than 90 degrees.
Right Triangle
One interior angle is exactly 90 degrees.

You can find the third angle by adding the two interior numbers inside of that. Than you get a answer. You grab the answer you got and subtract it with 360. So

Right Triangle
-EXACTLY 90 DEGREES.
