Snow storm

Today, the majority of the students handed in their mapping assignments for the Forbidden City. The entire learning process was quite remarkable to see. Students learned about scale, ratios, and proportions and how to apply their knowledge in a practical way. It was not an easy assignment and required a great deal of hard work, focus, and concentration. Keep on learning!!!

1.) MATH:

Complete pg 274-275 Questions #1-15 if you didn't finish it in class. Click here to review your lesson from class and the textbook questions.
Mark with the answer key in the back of your textbook
Do all your corrections.
Ask questions here if you have any. We will review challenging questions in class on Monday.

2.) SOCIAL STUDIES:

If you didn't hand in your map today, it is due on Monday at the latest. If you didn't pay me any 'HONG BUCKS' for your 'EXTENSION', I look forward to receiving this from you on Monday. ;-) HEHEHE

You wanna learn something about math? *Whisper* It's torture. We have to learn this stuff called zero principle and opposite integers. You may ask yourself, what is an opposite integer and zero principle? Well let me tell you all about it. Opposite integers are integers that are opposite of each other. For example, -4 and +4. The zero principle is a way you can calculate integers. Basically it is when an opposite integer cancel each other out. For example, if the equation was, 5 - (-4) you know that since 5 is basically 1 and 4. You can use the 4 to cancel the -4 out. Then your left with 1 which is your answer.

The zero principale and opposite intergers are very closely related. The zero principal is a rule that means that when you add opposite intergers, or positive and negative numbers of the same value, they always add up to zero.

So opposite integers means when two integers are the same distance on a number line (-5, +5) or like same number but different sides. On the other hand zero principle means that the sum of two opposite integers is 0. EG.(-5)+(+5)=0 .So basically what do they have in common? The common thing about it is that they both use both positive and negative numbers. I think?!?!

Math is one of the best subjects ever. We started a new unit in my called integers. Integers are negative and positive whole numbers. Last lesson we learned about opposite integers and the zero principle. Y'all might be like what does that mean. Well, let me explain. Opposite integers are two integers that are the same distance from 0 on a number line. For example, -2 and 2 are opposite integers. The zero principle is when the sum of two opposite integers is 0. For example, (-5) + 5 = 0.

A positive interger is a number above zero.A negetive interger is a number below zero.Any two same numbers with opposite signs are called opposite integers because they are on the same distance from zero on a number line. For example, +2 and -2 are opposite to one another. The zero principle is about cancelling out the opposite numbers. For example by pairing up -2 and +2, the answer is zero.

Opposite integers are integers opposite from each other in a number line. -5 and 5 are same distance from 0 so they're opposite integers. The zero principle is when 2 numbers cancel each other out and make 0. (-5)+(+5) = 0. That is a zero principle. So opposite integers are basically the same as a zero principle.

Well I looked down at my hands again, but I only saw some snow and No CrEaTiVe InTrO, so this is all you get :). Opposite integers are negative and positive numbers that are the same difference away from zero on the number line. For example, (-3) and (+3) are Opposite integers. The zero principle is the result of Opposite integers, because (-1) + (+1) = 0, because they both cancel eachother out. So if you had (-6) + (+8), (+8) could be changed to (+6) + (+2), and (+6) + (-6) = 0, 0 + the leftover (+2) = (+2), by using the zero principle, and opposite integers we just solved (-6) + (+8).

For example, 8 and (-8) are opposite integers, as well as 3 and (-3), 5 and (-5), 6 and (-6), etc. So, now that we know what opposite integers are, how does the zero principle relate to them? Then the zero principle takes part the, zero principle is if the numbers positive and negative like +5 and -5 they equal zero if they are added together. An opposite integer is an integer that is the same number away from zero as another number (e.g. +5 and -5). The zero principle is used in addition (with integers). The rule is that one negative number plus one positive number equals zero. So now that we know what these are... how are they related? Well, say you have an equation that's like (+4) + (-4). Some similarities are that they're the same number away from zero (opposite integers) and both numbers use the zero principle. You can use the zero principle to find an opposite integer because (-1) and (+1) times whatever will always equal an opposite integer (e.g. (-2) and (+2) which we saw in my equation example. Hopefully, I explained this somewhat clearly and correctly...

Zero principle is a addition. when you add two opposite integers together, you will get zero, which is also called the zero principle. Let's say, you add -4 and 4. The equation will be (-4) +(+4)=0. They are similar because the zero principle uses the opposite integers to add on to each other and gets the sum of 0. The equation can't be done without opposite integers.

I wondered what those numbers are too. They're integers, the numbers you see on a thermometer basically. Let's talk about these terms first. On Friday, we learned about opposite integers and zero principle . Do you know how are they related,if you are not sure ,now I am going to explain it to you. Let's just quickly explain what these two mean? First, opposite integers , which means that for each positive integer, there is a negative integer, and these integers are called opposites integers. For example , (-7)+(+7) , they both are the same number but they have the different symbol .How about zero principle , this means that two opposite integers, when they added, the sum will be zero; for example, (-8) + (+8) = 0 and the sum is 0 . So why are they related because when the sum is 0 , which mean zero principle , it equal 0 because of opposite integers , just like every time when you calculate the two same number but different symbol the answer is 0 . SCIENCE! Oh wait.. this par is about math. Okay I guess we have to talk about math, and the stuff we learned in class. So today in class we learned what opposite integers, are and how it corresponds with the zero principal. The first time I heard those words I was confused as well, so I'm gonna tell you all what those are and how they work. Opposite integers is what it sounds like, it's integers that are the opposite of each other. For example (-4) and 4. Now for the zero principal, and that is basically just a way to calculate integers, for example. If I had (-18) + 17 and I were going to use the zero principal, I'd look at the equation like this (-18) is a (-17) and a (-1). So the opposite integer will cancel out the (+17) and I'll be left with (-1).

Zero Principle - The sum of two integers is 0. E.g. (-3) + (+3)

These two terms are related in the term 0. It's also related because one uses the other to complete.
