Ancient India was not a safe place to live. Many groups of thieves existed already at the time of the Buddha( 6°century BC). They were bandits from generation to generation, robbing and killing their victims like the Thugs did later. These professional bandit caste, but not only them, constituted an important problem : punishment of crimes and offences was then harsh.

Written in the 4°century BC by Kautilya, minister of the king Candragupta Maurya, the “Arthashastra” is a treatise on the art of ruling and one of the main indian book ever written. It recommends : cutting off the right hand for pickpocketing or theft; cutting off the nose for theft; cutting off one hand for false dice player; cutting off the nose and ears for abetting in theft and adultery; chopping off one hand and leg for kicking preceptors and using royal coaches; blinding by poisonous ointments for sudras pretending to be brahmins or for slandering the king; chopping off one hand or foot for freeing culprits, forgery or sale of human flesh; cutting off the tongue for slandering preceptors, parents and the king and for defiling a brahmin’s kitchen. There were also different forms of death : death with torture for murder in a quarrel; death by impaling for theft of royal animals; death by burning hands and skin for treason; death by drowning for breaching dams or reservoirs, for poisoning or for women who administered poison; death by tearing off the limbs of criminals, for women who administered poison or set fire to houses; death by burning for incendiarism. There were also offences for which the culprit was killed without any torture being applied. Moreover, reduction to slavery was inflicted on men and women in cases of adultery,…

In practice, many mutilations and death penalties ( except those due to treason) were reduced to fines which resulted in a considerable inflow to the royal coffers. Except for treason, brahmins ( the highest class in India already) were immune from the death penalty. Being privileged, brahmin offenders were usually slightly condemned. In case of theft, the figure of a dog ( In traditional India, dogs are misconstrued, they considered as impure.) was branded on their forehead; in case of murder, the figure of a human trunk;…And in some cases, the alternative was to banish the brahmin from the kingdom

Ancient Greece consisted of several hundred relatively independent city-states (poleis). This was a situation unlike that in most other contemporary societies, which were either tribal or kingdoms ruling over relatively large territories. Undoubtedly the geography of Greece—divided and sub-divided by hills, mountains, and rivers—contributed to the fragmentary nature of ancient Greece. On the one hand, the ancient Greeks had no doubt that they were "one people"; they had the same religion, same basic culture, and same language. Furthermore, the Greeks were very aware of their tribal origins; Herodotus was able to extensively categorise the city-states by tribe. Yet, although these higher-level relationships existed, they seem to have rarely had a major role in Greek politics. The independence of the poleis was fiercely defended; unification was something rarely contemplated by the ancient Greeks. Even when, during the second Persian invasion of Greece, a group of city-states allied themselves to defend Greece, the vast majority of poleis remained neutral, and after the Persian defeat, the allies quickly returned to infighting.
Thus, the major peculiarities of the ancient Greek political system were firstly, its fragmentary nature, and that this does not particularly seem to have tribal origin, and secondly, the particular focus on urban centers within otherwise tiny states. The peculiarities of the Greek system are further evidenced by the colonies that they set up throughout the Mediterranean Sea, which, though they might count a certain Greek polis as their 'mother' (and remain sympathetic to her), were completely independent of the founding city.
Inevitably smaller poleis might be dominated by larger neighbors, but conquest or direct rule by another city-state appears to have been quite rare. Instead the poleis grouped themselves into leagues, membership of which was in a constant state of flux. Later in the Classical period, the leagues would become fewer and larger, be dominated by one city (particularly Athens, Sparta and Thebes); and often poleis would be compelled to join under threat of war (or as part of a peace treaty). Even after Philip II of Macedon "conquered" the heartlands of ancient Greece, he did not attempt to annex the territory, or unify it into a new province, but simply compelled most of the poleis to join his own Corinthian League.
Initially many Greek city-states seem to have been petty kingdoms; there was often a city official carrying some residual, ceremonial functions of the king (basileus), e.g., the archon basileus in Athens.[26] However, by the Archaic period and the first historical consciousness, most had already become aristocratic oligarchies. It is unclear exactly how this change occurred. For instance, in Athens, the kingship had been reduced to a hereditary, lifelong chief magistracy (archon) by c. 1050 BC; by 753 BC this had become a decennial, elected archonship; and finally by 683 BC an annually elected archonship. Through each stage more power would have been transferred to the aristocracy as a whole, and away from a single individual.
Inevitably, the domination of politics and concomitant aggregation of wealth by small groups of families was apt to cause social unrest in many poleis. In many cities a tyrant (not in the modern sense of repressive autocracies), would at some point seize control and govern according to their own will; often a populist agenda would help sustain them in power. In a system wracked with class conflict, government by a 'strongman' was often the best solution.
Athens fell under a tyranny in the second half of the 6th century. When this tyranny was ended, the Athenians founded the world's first democracy as a radical solution to prevent the aristocracy regaining power. A citizens' assembly (the Ecclesia), for the discussion of city policy, had existed since the reforms of Draco in 621 BC; all citizens were permitted to attend after the reforms of Solon (early 6th century), but the poorest citizens could not address the assembly or run for office. With the establishment of the democracy, the assembly became the de jure mechanism of government; all citizens had equal privileges in the assembly. However, non-citizens, such as metics (foreigners living in Athens) or slaves, had no political rights at all.
After the rise of the democracy in Athens, other city-states founded democracies. However, many retained more traditional forms of government. As so often in other matters, Sparta was a notable exception to the rest of Greece, ruled through the whole period by not one, but two hereditary monarchs. This was a form of diarchy. The Kings of Sparta belonged to the Agiads and the Eurypontids, descendants respectively of Eurysthenes and Procles. Climate:

Greece has a warm Mediterranean climate. In summer, dry hot days are often relieved by stiff evening breezes, especially in the north, on the islands and in coastal areas. Athens can be stiflingly hot, with temperatures occasionally exceeding 40°C (104°F) in July. Winters are mild in the south but much colder in the mountainous north, where it is not uncommon to see snow and temperatures plummeting to well below zero. November to March is the rainy season, most notably on the Ionian islands.

Weather in Egypt. The Egyptian summer is hot and dry in most of the country, and humid in the Delta and along the Mediterranean Coast. In recent years the humidity has spread to Cairo, and the city swelters in August! Winter is mild with some rain, but usually it is bright, sunny days with cold nights.

Geography

Most of the land of ancient Egypt was barren desert. However, a narrow strip of fertile land on the banks of the Nile river made it possible for life to be sustained on the land there. This is why the Greek writer Herodotus called Egypt the 'gift of the river'.

Is thought to be formed around 4,000 years ago. Greeks people had some strange superstitions like they would'nt eat beans because they though beans contained the lives of dead souls. That's not nearly all, they originally thought of superstions like Cyberus the three headed dog that guarded the gate to hell and Hydra a random epic looking dragon that when you chop 1 of its heads off. In seconds 2 heads grow back. They believed these things to help them understand the world better because when a guy died, God knows where he's going.
The Greek did not just have believes but they had yearly events. But they didn't have Halloween and Christmas like we do. They had Olympus. Olympus was a sport they did, or that was kinda the word they used to call sport and it was a bunch of activities to remember the gladiators. Like javelin throwing boxing high jump and much more.

Ancient Egyptian wigs

Egyptians shaved their heads bald during the hot summers. However, since baldness was not regarded as aesthetically pleasing, they invented wigs. The wigs also protected their heads from the sun. Both men and women wore wigs, except priests (who may not have felt they needed them) and laborers (who may not have been able to afford them, or may have felt they were too hot). Ancient Egyptian wigs were made of human hair, sometimes with plant fiber or sheep wool added to increase volume. They were covered with resin and beeswax, which gave them their stiff quality and braided appearance. Both black and blonde wigs were made.

Ancient Egyptian makeup

Both male and female Egyptians placed great importance on hygiene and their appearance. Makeup was worn not only for appearance but also for medical, religious and cultural reasons. Eye makeup was first invented by the Egyptians around 4000 BC, and it is still in style. Ancient Egyptians combined soot with a mineral called galena to make a black ointment known as kohl. The word “kohl” is still used today. They also made green eye makeup by combining a mineral called malachite to color the ointment. To the ancient Egyptians, the more color worn by a person, the higher the social ranking. Even the statues of gods and goddesses wore makeup.

In ancient Egypt, linen was by far the most common textile. It helped people to be comfortable in the subtropical heat. Linen is made from the flax plant by spinning the fibers from the stem of the plant. Spinning, weaving and sewing were very important techniques for all Egyptian societies. Plant dyes could be applied to clothing but the clothing was usually left in its natural color. Wool was known, but considered impure. Only the wealthy wore animal fibers that were the object of taboos. They were used on occasion for overcoats, but were forbidden in temples and sanctuaries. Peasants, workers and other people of modest condition often wore nothing, but the shenti (made of flax) was worn by all people. Slaves often worked naked. The most common headdress was the khat or nemes, a striped cloth worn by men.

Ships sailed up and down the Nile River, bringing goods to various ports. Once goods were unloaded, goods were hauled to various merchants by camel, cart, and on foot. (Donkeys were used by farmers, not traders usually.) Egyptians traders met traders from other civilizations just beyond the mouth of the Nile, to trade for goods brought to them, but they did not often travel themselves much beyond the Nile River.

a.) Yes, it's really important to be kind to others, because if you're not kind to each other, it sometimes lead to suicide, or the person you always tease might think "Oh... I really am useless... I should be gone in this world." You don't want them to think that, right? So make them think "I'm useful! I'm good! People love me! It's not a bad life, just a bad day!"

b.) Yes, it is REALLY important to follow the rules. If you don't follow them, you might get someone killed. For example, you cross the road even though the lights are still green, and the cars suddenly stop because they see you cross. Then, the car behind that car get hit. So that's why it's really important to follow the rules either you like it or not.

c.) It's important to be respectful to everyone, because not everyone gets respect. Some people always get bullied becuase that person is different from the others. You shouldn't judge the person becuase of how they look like, what they act, or what they're interested on.

d.) My definition of a good person person is that they always share stuff they have to others (including the poor), they are always kind to everyone, they don't judge people by how they look like or act, they always go by the rules.

The first great king of Babylon was King Hammurabi. He conquered all of Mesopotamia and established the first Babylonian Empire. Hammurabi also established a set of laws that is today called the Code of Hammurabi. How do we know about the Code of Hammurabi? The Code of Hammurabi was written down on clay tablets and etched into stone. It is one of the oldest recorded codes of laws in the world. One of the best surviving examples of the code is written on the "diorite stele". The code itself tells archeologists a lot about the lives of the people of Babylon. It also contains some important ideas like having people provide evidence of a crime, innocent until proven guilty, and protection for the weak.
Here's are some examples of laws;
~If a son should strike his father, his hands shall be cut off.
~If a man put out the eye of another man, his eye shall be put out.
~If any man should strike a man of higher rank, he shall receive sixty blows with an ox-whip.
~If a builder builds a house for someone and that house collapses killing them, then the builder shall be put to death.

The concept of the city, first manifested in the construction of Eridu, did not remain bound by that area for long. Urbanization spread across the region of Sumer rapidly beginning in c. 4500 BCE with the rise of the city of Uruk, today considered the world’s first city. It may well be that Eridu is in fact the world’s first city, as the Sumerian myths maintain, but Eridu was founded c. 5400 BCE, long before the advent of writing (c. 3000 BCE), and, by that time, Uruk was long established and had created and discarded numerous artifacts which, in the present day, attest to its size and population and so substantiate the claim that Uruk is the world’s first city. It is very good to be nice to people because then they will be nice to you.
You must follow rules and laws or else you would be considered a criminal.
It depends if you are nice to everyone... if they got in trouble for a bad thing than I think you would not like to be nice to all people.
A good person is following rules and being kind.

It is important to be kind to each other, because if you don't people will be kind to you. This will lead to chaos, maybe even war. It is also important to follow rules, because if you don't people can get hurt. this can also lead to chaos as well. I think the definition of a good person is to be kind to each other and follow rules

A) It's important to be kind to a person because they might share the kindness to another person that needs it.

B) It's important to follow the rules because if we don't everything would be a mess and it would be just complete chaos.

C) It's important to be respectful because you wouldn't want the same person u disrespected to disrespect you. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

D) The definition of a good person to me is that he or she will always have my back and would make sacrifices for the greater good, and also they could be there for me when i need them most.

Some people struggle making friends especially when they're new to the community. Firstly, it is important to be kind to them especially to everyone in class. If you treat this person really nice, they will treat you nicely too. Secondly, following those laws/rules in class that your teacher gave and discussed with us makes Mr. Hong happy and, he doesn't need to go over it again cause it's boring. Thirdly, being respectful to your teachers and classmates and especially your parents will lead you to a successful life. If a person needs space, give them some space. They need air to breath and calm their hearts down. Cause of course, you don't wanna be rude to them..! In my opinion, I believe that a good person is someone who is fairly kind to others, always helpful, and respecting.

Blaaaaaaaaaaah Yes, it's important to be kind to other people because you should respect everybody and treat them how you want to be treated. It is also important to follow rules because it is to make you realize what is right and wrong. Respecting to other is big because it'll be chaos. My definition of a good person is to follow whats right and wrong and be open to everything thing.

( Still working on the hook) I think you should be king to people all the time, even if you do not like that person. Always be kind to your friends and family, but kinder to your enimies. Also, It is very important to follow the rules. When you are following the rules your not just respecting the teacher but the students as well. When you follow the rules you are showing that you are a responsible and caring student. To me a good person is a person that does and says everything from the heart. Also, telling the truth no matter what. A good person helps whenever. I think the whole class is kind.

The code of Hammurabi was made back in 1750 BC

The stele is a wooden slab that Has all the laws of Babylon carved into it. But the rules are not in English writing, It's in ruins. Here is a picture. The stele was built in Babylon and is now in a museum in Paris. Here is a photo of the stele.

Mesopotamia’s land is between 2 rivers. The Tigris River, and the Euphrates River.

1.) I think it's good to be kind to others because if there haveing a bad day that can make them feel good. And like the video that person might be kind to another person.
2.) I think it's important to follow rules because we can do more fun things and we won't have to stay after school

Being kind is good because being mean isn't good. It can hurt people's feelings. Following the rul are important because if you don't follow some rules you can go to jail.
