TUESDAY: Electricity

Today, you started learning about electricity and the science of it all. We watched a video and practiced note taking and finding key points. We learned many of the key terms we will need to know for the rest of the unit. Tonight's post a response will test you to see if you retained what you learned today! (It's not really a test but I'd like to see what you learned)

In Socials, many of us are busy working on our Ancient Civilizations projects that are due on Friday! We know that we have to manage our work time at school and at home in order to complete it by Friday.

1.) MATH 6: Any assigned work.
MATH 7: Complete page 1 and 2 of booklet (INTEGERS).

2.) SOCIALS: Continue working on your projects. It is due on Friday.

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

In your own words, explain what you learned today in Science. You must include at least 5 or more of the following terms: conductor, insulator, resistor, electrons, atoms, nucleus of atoms, alternating current, direct current, volts, pressure, amps, flow, watts, etc.
Feel free to do additional research for tonight's post a response, however, you must use your own words. If you copy and paste, you will be given an extra assignment tomorrow.

Today in science we learned a lot about electricity. I learned that a conductor is an object that lets electricity through the path (wires). An object that is an resistor is the opposite of a conductor, it doesn't let anything by. Apart from a conductor and an resistor, there is an insulator. An insulator lets some things through but not all things. I also learned that volts are the pressure and amps are the flow. If an item needs more watts from an outlet plug, it needs more power.
(I missed the first part of the lesson so I don't know about electrons, atoms, nucleus of an atom)

A resistor lets something's through not all and insulators let nothing through.

Today in science we learned about electricity. One thing that I learned was when you flick the on and off switch for your light bulb there is a little door and when you hit on the door closes and the little electrons move all around but when you hit off the door opens and the electrons orbit the atom nucleus.

Today we learned about electricity and how it works. I found the atoms intresting because its cool how when you close it all of the little things go there own way and bouce back onto the atoms. Then when you open it the go in a circle around the nucleus.

In science we leaned a lot about electrons from Bill Nye. He showed us how they work and how a current and circuit work. Also we learned about ac and dc. Ac is Shen you plug something into a wall and it completes the circuit and keeps going in a circle. Dc is like a battery and goes strait to were the power is needed. Lastly we learned the diffrent kinds of objects conducted, insulator and resistor.

We ended the day with a science class about electricity. I learned about how electrons orbit around the adams nucleus, Conductors let all the electrons through the path while the resistor stops the electrons from flowing through the circuit, An insulator lets some electricity through but not all. I also learnt about an open and closed circuit. An Open circuit means that the electricity is flowing through the paths and that it is on. while on the other hand, a closed circuit means that there is no electricity flowing through the paths and therefore it is off.

Today we learned about electricity. Here are some the things that we learned. Electrons are tiny particles that orbit the nucleus of an atom. When a switch is pressed, some kind of conductor makes the electrons go through the path, or the wire. Some types of conductors are things like a nail or pencil led. Other things that let electricity go through them are things called resisters, except resisters only let some of it through. These are things like a human hand or wood. Then there are things called insulators, which let in almost none of the electricity. These are things like socks and such.

P.S. I tried to do some research, but I didn't understand some of the terms the websites used. For example, ohms.

I already learned all of this last year. Conductors are things that can flow electricity through them. Insulators do not allow electricity to go through. Electrons are what go around the nucleus of a atom when the circuit is off. Although, when the circuit is on, the electrons flow through the circuit. A resistor is something like graphite which only allows a certain amount of electricity travel through.

This is watt we learned: A conductor Is something that conducts electricity. a resistor Is something that limits the amount of electrons that can come through that circuit. an insulater Is something that stops the flow of electrons through a circuit . electrons orbit the nucleas of an atom. there are two kinds of currents: direct current and alternating current. Amps are are the measurement of the flow of electrons and volts is the measurement of the pressure of the electrons. watts are the measurement of both amps and volts alltogether.

Today in science we learned the a conductor is something that conducts electricity, a resistor is something something that lets some electricity throw. We learned that electrons orbit the nucleus of an atom, when the switch is closed its on but when it's open it's off. Also, a circuit is something that has a batteries and a light bulb and it stays in a continuing circle.

Today in science we talked and took notes on electricity. We learned about cercites and how the electricity does a loop when there is a cercite attacked. We also learned of conductress they conduct electricity. Also, about insulator those are the thing that bloke electricity. Also, about resistor they will let conduct some electricity in but not all of it. Electrons are he things that orbit the necul of the atoms and when you turn it on they jump from one to another.

In science we were talking about electricity. I learned many new things including that electricity is made with the movement of electrons. Also that conductors can have electricity flow, insulators can't have elecricity flow, and resistors are in the middle. Lastly I learned that Adom is very important, it's somewhat like the heart of electricity.

Today in science, we learned about electricity. I learned a lot of things and new terms about electricity. For example, a circuit needs to be closed in order for it to be on, electrons cirlcle around the nucleus when it's "OFF" but when it's "ON" the electrons go everywhere. I also learned that an insulator is something that does not conduct electricity, a conductor does, and a resister conducts electricity sometimes but not always.

I learned that When circuit is on the door is actually closed and when that happens all the electrons that were circeling the atoms nucleus, go flow from 1 nucleus to another.
I also learned that a Insulator doesent conducts electricity, a resister conducts enough electricity that it wants to and a Conducter basicly conducts alot of electricity

Today we learned about how electricity works. The first thing we learned about was electrons and atoms. When the circuit is closed(on), the electrons go from atom to atom which is what makes electricity flow. When the circuit is open(off), the electrons will circle around the nucleus of an atom. The second thing we learned was what conductor, insulator, and resistor meant. A conductor means something that can conducts electricity. An insulator is the exact opposite because it does not conduct electricity. A resistor is right in between a conductor and a insulator because it conducts some electricity but not all.

I learned a lot today in science. When you turn a switch on it closes the little flap turning on the electricity and allowing the electrons to go through the circuit really fast and around the nucleus of the atom. All the elections circle around the atom in order to make the electricity. The voltage is like the pressure in the battery and the AMPS are the flow "like a water hose being turned on." I think this will be a really cool unit.

Today in science we learned about what atoms were and what a nucleus were. Atoms are super tiny that people can not see. The on and off system is the one with the electrons and they open the path when it is closed and when it is open there is no path to take. Another one is the insulator. The insulator is the one that lets things through the path and then it stops some electrons from going through. A conductor is the one that will concoct electricity.

Today in class we learned about atoms, electrons, and not very much about neutrons and protons. We found out that solar cells can convert light into electricity, metal can conduct electricity very well, that things that don't let electrons through are called insolators, a resister is between a conductor, and an isolator, electrical circuits have pressure in the form of voltage, and etc. These were only a few but there are still lots more to learn.

Today I learned about electrons. Electeons are what electricity is made of and that electrons flow around an atoms nucleus in and orbit. I had also learned that the stuff inside batteries are called electrolytes wich is what kinda powers the battery. I learned that energy flows through when you turn an electronic on just like how you would turn on a hose and water would run through. And in 1831 electricity was discoverd when a guy who's name I don't remember, took copper wire, a magnet and a compas he had travels the force to make the compass pointer move.

Today in science we learned about electricity. Electricity is made from electrons. Also I learned that if circuit is closed electronic go around the nucleus and if circuits are on, electronic go every where. Conductor is usually made with medal that conduct electricity, and insolator is the thing that doesn't through electricity.

In science I learned how things power up. They are called electrons. I also learned this thing called neutrons, protons, and insulators. A resister is a thing between the conductor and a insulator. There is a thing called a Atom. There is something in the Atom called a nucleus. If the electricity is of the electrons go around the nucleus, when the electricity is on the electrons go past the nucleus.

I learned a pot in science class today. I learned stuff about the electrons and atoms I barley even knew what those were before yesterday. I also learned some really cool interesting facts like when the battery is open the it will turn off. Also when metal is cold then it will give more electricity than hot metal.

Today we learned about how electricity works, by electrons circling a atoms nucleus until a closed currant causes it to start flowing. The things that can power those things such as metals are conducters, ones that don't are resistors, and those that let through a small charge are insulators. Also, charges that go one way are a direct circuit, and ones that go more then one way are alternating circuits.

Yesterday we learned that insulators don't let electricity through. Also that conductors let electricity through. A resistor is in between a conductor and an insulator and they let some electricity though but not all. We also learned that electrons orbit the nucleus of the atom. The flow = amps and pressure = volts and amps + volts = watts.

I learned that conductors let electricity though for example, a metal object like the metal eraser part of a pencil is a good conductors. The opposite of a conductor is an insulator, an insulator doesn't let electricity go though it for example, a wood object let a the wood of a pencil. Something that is in between a conductor and an insulator is a resistor, a resistor let some electricity but not all for example the pencil lead is a resistor.I also learned, that electrons circle the nucleus of the atom when the switch is on. When the switch is off the electrons bounce to nucleus to nucleus.
@Mr.Hong sorry this is so late I had the flu.
