Getting creative on an inside day!

Today, the students participated in their first golf lesson. They learned about the different clubs and also how to use the wedge and the putter. The special instructor that came to Hillcrest emphasized that focus, posture, and positioning are all important when playing golf. Check out the video link on Tiger Woods' golf swing!

1.) MATH 6: Any assigned work.
MATH 7:

Go to 'Google Finance' and do some research on some companies you have heard of or are interested in learning more about. For example, you might look up Facebook, Google, or Microsoft?

Pick 5 companies you are interested in purchasing shares/stocks in. Write down the name of the company.
Write down the company 'TICKER' symbol. For example, the ticker symbol for Microsoft is 'MSFT'.
Write down the closing price of the share today.
Yes.....that's all you have to do today! :-)

2.) SOCIAL STUDIES:

Complete your 'What in the World' booklet.
Write down your visible thinking on the 2 page article.
Complete the questions and inference question.
Complete the colouring and labelling of the map.

2.) POST A RESPONSE #1:

Why is it important to be nice and respectful to the people around you?
Can happiness affect the people around you?
Do you think it can be infectious?
What would happen if everyone treated each other with respect? (R.O.L.E.S.)

3.) POST A RESPONSE #2/SHOWCASED WEBSITES:

Drop your classmates at least 3 comments on their different blog posts.

I think it is important to be nice to people around you because it can affect the people around you as well as yourself and following the roles in school. By being nice to one another if it is a stranger who needs help if you were to help them out it would mean that you are willing and helpful and others will build trust in you whenever they need help if you become friends. what this would also do is, it would make it a nice world with no wars. And maybe a bunch of people dancing to the happy song everywhere. :D

It is important to be respectful to the people around you because if you are respectful then most likely other people will be respectful with you. I think that happiness can affect the people around you because when I see other people happy I start becoming happy. If everybody treated each other with respect we would all be happy and there would be no wars.

I learned that V2000 likes video games and that oracle often changes his website.

I think that it is very important to be nice and respectful because that is how that person will act to the next person. SO basically, it is like an alien flood, you be nice to somebody, that person does something nice for another person and that continues. Whereas, when you are mean or giving stress to someone, they will be frustrated at others around him/her.

Being nice is also not even hard. All you need to do is pick up something they dropped or smile at them. Even "hello" is nice.

It is important to be respectful to people because you can brighten up their day by giving them a complement or even just a smile. It can go a long ways. And once their in a good mood, they might put someone else in a good mood. So this could go on, and on, and on, and our community can become a better, and happier place! So, it can start with you, just smile or be kind to someone and hi can start making a difference.

It is important because if you do that, others will respect and be kind back to you. You will also be know as a good person, and that means other people will want to be your friend. Happiness for sure has an affect on others. It makes them feel that everything is alright, and it will be infectious on them because after they see that your happy, they'll use you as an example to follow. Although, if everyone treated each other with the R.O.L.E.S., there would not be a single war going on, robberies would stop, less death, more friends to have, more places to visit, and many more.

I learned Oracle is good at designing a website, and that V.2000X is good at that as well, but he is also very in to tech stuff like Mr. Hong.

I think it is important to be respectful and nice to people around you because if you are it will make them respect you and feel happy. This will affect people around you because then they will be happy, and be nice to others. I think it is infectious because if you are happy, others will be happy around you, smiling takes up less muscles than frowning, so smile. Smiling is contagious. If everyone was treated with respect, the world would be better, now war, fights, anything like that.

I learned Oracle is pretty good at websites and V.2000x likes tech.

Well I say that its respectful to be nice to people around you because they would treat you the same way back, we don't want to start a random argument about something that isn't such a big deal. Pretty much the reason why its so infectious is because its spreading a smile to our face by listening to a happy song or making others happy, and when I say infectious I think of it as a corruption to man kind, and it pretty much is. If we were to use our ROLES then we'd show everyone how to behave, just as how we have to show a good example or better to the younger ones in the school.

I learned that I can make a great technology architecture on websites and how to use gadgets I don't know how to from V.2000X's website and Oracle's website. (Also, when I mean't Oracle's website I mean't my website.)

It is important to be nice to people because its makes them feel happy and that's make you feel happy. Happiness can affect the people around you because when people are happy they aren't rude to people. No i do not think it can be infectious because if it was infectious people wouldn't be doing bad stuff and being very rude sometimes. If everyone treated each other with respect and the R.O.L.E.S. everyone would be nice and not be vandalizing property or just constantly being rude.

If you are nice and respectful to people they will probably start to like you and you may become friends. That practically also answered the second question because being nice affects other people and they will probably like you and want to be friends with you. It can be infectious because when people are happy they will be nice to people and when someone is nice to someone else it makes them happy and then they will probably be nice to other people because they are happy and so on. I hope that made sense. :) If everyone treated each other with respect then everyone would stay happy.

I think that it is important to be nice to people because once your nice to them they will be nice to you and it feels good having somebody say something nice about/to you. I think that if everybody treated each other with respect than it would be a peaceful world with no wars or fights.

Happiness is contagious. If one person is being really happy, another person will see how nice it is to be happy and join in. Then another person will, and so on. That's why it is very important to be nice to people. If everyone is happy, the world would be a happy and peaceful place.

Even respect people you don't like. Everywhere you go you have to use the R.O.L.E.S. Never argue with people older than you and just listen to what they say.

1.) I think it is important to be respectful to others because if you don't it won't be a nice place to live. If everyone is disrespectful no one would be friendly nor happy. If we all were respectful every one would get along and it would be a nice place to live.
2.) I learned they both update there websites very often. Also, they do reflections on almost all of there big projects. Lastly, the keep every thing neat and organized.

1.) I really think that you should be nice and respect people because they feel good inside and will want to do nice things back. When people are disrespectful they are not thought over as a nice person and expect them as a bad person in their own point of view.
2.) And for the posts these two people seem to be very active on their websites and keep on checking it on a regular basis.

I think that is it nice to be kind to others because if your respect someone they will respect you. Yes happiness will effect others because if you smile at someone or make them lsugh they will be happy and enjoy the rest of their day. Of everyone used the roles to everyone then there would be no war and fights everyone would get along. I learned from the two blogs is that they both update their sights regularly.

It's important to be respectful to the right people, and be polite. It's good to be happy with yourselves, and help others feel happy to. Though, if someone is being disrespectful, or mean and rude and whiny, they don't always need respect back. We don't need to be respectful and positive to every single person we meet in the span of our lifetimes because that's not how the world works. You have to make room for your other emotions so you don't bottle them up and become a single sided coin of emotions. You should follow your own boundaries, which could be the roles, but we aren't going to remember the roles when we grow older, we will all have our own policies and beliefs and we all have our own personalities and outlooks on the world, which shouldn't be shaped by other people so they like our personalities better then what we really are.

1.) I think you should respect others because if you dont it brings them down it makes you look all bad and mean and its just wrong, how would you feel like if someone came up to you and hit you than said bad things about you? I would feel really upset.
2.) I learned that some people dont have the actually post they just have reflections and told people about the subject not the post so i thought "well theres nothing to post but feedback so..."
but other than that with the reflections they did really good.

Roles everyone should use them they are so important. You always want someone to be happy around you and if they are not try to make them happy. Also you want a good reputation about your self.

I learned that they keep updating there site and double check it before posting because there are not much errors on there post.

It's good to follow the roles because it makes people happy and can effect their day because then they would make someone else happy and feel really good about it. If every one followed the roles it would most likely be a happier place and less fighting.
