TUESDAY: HAIKU

Today, students learned more about reading strategies. They focused on visualizing and determining what is important. In addition to this, they reviewed and used their other strategies as they completed their reading activity and their visible thinking. The deep thinking responses and comments the students came up with today blew me away. Keep up the good work everyone!

1.) MATH 6: Chapter 7 Lesson 6 Complete the remainder of the questions.
MATH 7: Any assigned work. Please check your teacher's website.

2.) POST A RESPONSE:

A Haiku poem is Japanese style of poetry that often relates to nature.
It has 3 lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third line has 5 syllables.
Indicate how many syllables each line has at the end of each line.
Create two different Haikus and post them in one post.
Comment on one other student's haiku poems. Be sure to indicate if they followed the correct structure (3 lines and correct syllables)

Good post BUT, you have to many syllables in your first sentence first paragraph and to many in third sentence first paragraph.

@Patato, good job! But remember to have five syllables in your first sentence, seven syllables in your second sentence and five syllables in your third sentence. But overall good job, I really liked your Haiku poem.

@Goofy, you did a miscount with your syllables . The first had 3, the second had 6, and the third has 4. Green should be GREEN, not GR-E-EN. On your second Haiku, you had more syllable miscounts. I hate poop has 3 syllables, and Hey I found some is 4.

I found a way to get flash on my tablet Mr. Hong! The awesome thing is I got a new browser called FireFox and Puffin free so I have 4 browsers and on puffin free it is ment for computer games like facebook games so I can pull up a mouse with a trackpad and I can pull up a game controller! I think it works on Apple devices but you need to get the right flash. For example my tablet is Android 4.3.2 (if I remember correctly) so I need to get the eact flash that it fits with.

Thanks! I think I know how to do it on apple. But I am not sure if its he same link. Now my tablet can run computer games, movies, etc. It feels like a computer now!

You didn't put the amount of syllables you have in each sentence. For the first haiku, you don't have 5 syllables in the first and third line same with the second haiku.
