Tuesday: Holiday Wreaths

Thanks to Mr. Hong's father and his pine tree, we were able to make our own holiday wreaths! We used coat hangers as our frames and wired the branches onto them. In addition to this, we decorated them with bells, ribbons, ornaments, and tinsel. We will add the the final touches to our wreaths tomorrow so we have them ready to take home for the holiday break!

1.) MATH 6 - Continue keeping up with your estimates, calculations (using any price between the day's high and low) and maintaining a spreadsheet of the total value of your investments using your Google Spreadsheet.
MATH 7 - Any assigned work.

2.) WRITE A RESPONSE: Watch this video of this amazing student from Division 4 'Popping & Locking'. 'TARANTULA' as we know him, learned how to dance like this by watching the famous Marquese Scott video.
a.) If you are given an assignment to learn about something you are genuinely interested in, what would it be? Write the topic and a reason why.
b.) Post a link to a Youtube clip that shows what you want to learn.
c.) Can you think of something that you can't learn from YouTube? If so, please list the topic and explain.

What do I want to learn? What am I interested in? I am very interested in tech and programming. I am trying to build my own iPod, iPhone, and iPad app. I want to learn how to program further and better. Currently, I use Xcode and HacketyHack, which are both programming programs. Xcode is available for Mac only and it can only be used to create Apple Device apps. HacketyHack is just a simple program for coding.

There are a lot of things you don't need YouTube to learn. There are some obvious ones.
1) breathing
2) drinking water
3) how to ride a bike (maybe for tricks)
4) how to ride a scooter (maybe for tricks)
5) how to sleep
6) how to eat
7) how to play sports (you can crate your own!)
8) how to sing

There are videos for these topics but you don't need them.
You really don't need any YouTube videos, if you try hard.

It's very complex and no one could ever say it's simple, unless thay are a developer, since we're only 11 and 12 the furthest we can do is make it into a IPA.

I picked this because I've always been making art and crafts, and if I could put my art on t-shirts or clothes i'm sure that I would be VERY happy while doing it!

A) I would like to learn about history for many people think history is boring but I think it is interesting to learn about are past and what has been going on back in the old days. One reason why I what t learn about history is because it is very cool to see how every thing developed. Secondly, I would like to see how other cultures and stuff like that work and to find out how they did things. Thirdly, I like to see what they used back then and how they got this far in this world or how far we got in this world. Lastly, I like to see how things are constructed back then because they did no have the fancy tools that we have now a days and how they came up with such cool designs for example the ziggurat is a building that I study last year that I thought was very cool looking like a pyramid

you could learn about diferant things on youtube. But some not true. dont belive everything you see on the internet.

on youtbe you could see other people opinions on somthing. and compare it to another persons opinion.

In my opinion I would like to learn about paranormal activity. Two things I would like to know is one, is it real and two, how does it work. And i would want to learn about it because i find it interesting and weird at the same time. I dont really know a good youtube link for paranormal activity.

A) Something I want to learn about the science of sports, like in baseball if he didnt flip the ball from his glove he would have been safe or if a player had moved back one inch he would not get the interception.

@ SpongeBob Squarepants - I totally agree. To be able to do a backflip in any sport is very difficult to learn without actually attempting it in real life. When I learned how to do backflips, it was the initial fear of hitting my head that kept me doing back handsprings for a while before I was able to actually flip myself all the way over.

One of y passions is bmx. So one of the things I would like to learn about the history of bmx and how bmx was made. Since this is one of my passions is bmx so I want to learn about how it was made and who made it so I know more about the sport. It will teach me how these people learned the tricks so that I can learn like they did.

a) If I was supposed to find a topic on something I am interested in I would choose "Nail Painting". I would choose nail painting because I really enjoy painting my nails and I love looking up nail designs on you tube and trying them out.

One of the many things I am interested in is, video games/computer games. What I wonder is, how do people make it? I have always wondered how. It's really cool how you can just insert a disc and a whole bunch of things pop on to your T.V. . Or, you download a game off a website and you are free to play it whenever you like.

I would like to learn about nail designs because I like to paint my nails and it would be cool to figure out a easy nail design that looks really hard but is really easy.
There are tons of videos on you tube and i think that there are a variety of topics that have already been done so no I don't think that there is a topic that doesn't have at least one video for the topic.

I have done this type of nail art before it turned out really well and it looks like you wrote the letters on your nails.

I think making a mod would be pretty cool. When you have finished the mod you can release it to the world. If I was given a choice on what to learn I would learn more about interactive educational technology. I would learn about this subject because if we are working on a partnering activity I could work over the Internet with friends on projects and other subjects and explore more over the Internet and learn more than I would when home schooling.
