Tonight's homework activity will be to create a fun and exciting vacation by using locations in Canada and locations abroad. We are all looking forward to seeing what everyone creates They will share their maps via a shared link on tonight's 'POST A RESPONSE' assignment.
1.) MATH 6: Any assigned work.
MATH 7: 3.2 textbook questions, and 3.3 worksheet. Ignore the spinner question.
2.) ART: Complete colouring your fish. Be sure to review the videos that were posted last night.
3.) POST A RESPONSE:
- Subscribe to the Google Maps YouTube Channel.
- Choose a minimum of 6 locations to a maximum of 10 locations. These locations must include city names, countries, and significant landmark/monument names. Here is an example of what you writing post will look like tonight. YOU MUST USE THIS FORMAT:
1.) Eiffel Tower - Paris, France.
2.) CN Tower - Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
3.) etc...complete for all your locations.

- View each location in map view, earth view, and streetview.
- To start measuring the distance, right click on your starting location hot link and click on Measure distance (DO NOT CHOOSE YOUR HOME). Start with Hillcrest Elementary School.
- Search out your second location and simply click on the hot link and you will see the estimated distance. Search out your next location and click on it. Follow this procedure for all your locations.
- Keep in mind you want to take the shortest trip possible so you should go in one direction. Do not go back and forth.
- In the bottom right corner, you will see a settings cog/sprocket icon. Click on it and share your link on today's 'POST A RESPONSE' so we can all see the map you created. Be sure to use the 'SHORTENED LINK' option if you can find this.
- Tomorrow, we will use the new 'MY MAPS' in class to do some fun mapping activities.
