TUESDAY: RESPECT

Today, the Grade 6/7 students were part of Hillcrest's first assembly of the year. The topic was respect. Students learned more about respect and the Hillcrest R.O.L.E.S.. One topic that has been a focus in our class over the last few days has been 'Respect for others'. Respecting the learning environment and property of others is very important. Students know that if they do not show respect to their learning environment, certain privileges will no longer be given to them.

LEARNING INTENTION: To organize information in a systematic way using a 3 circle Venn diagram.

1.) MATH 6/7: If you haven't already done so, complete the first 3 worksheets (front and back)

2.) FORMS:

Grade 6 immunization forms are due
Grade 6/7 PAC forms are due
Planner money $5
If your parents haven't already done so, have them complete the Parent Questionnaire

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

There was an incident that occurred in our classroom today that disappointed many of us. A student directly disrespected the members of our classroom and the Hillcrest community by taking the property of another student.
If someone took your iPhone from you and threw it in the toilet, how would that make you feel?
In a brief paragraph, please explain. Please be sure to relate it to respect and the Hillcrest R.O.L.E.S..

If my device was stolen at school, thrown in the toilet, and no one admitted to that, I would be really upset. I find it really weird that after what happened a few days ago on this website about someone doing an inappropriate comment and having a assembly about RESPECT and R.O.L.E.S, that someone would still have the guts to steal and break an 800 dollar device. I hope her IPhone will soon be working, and that the person who did it realizes that they broke all the rules of R.O.L.E.S. That person violated respect, others, our classes learning environment, and their self, because that person is most likely to be caught and be expelled.

I would feel really bad. I would not trust anyone anymore. It was very wrong to do that and me personally I am nervous to bring my device to school.This relates two E and O because the phone is in the classroom environment and it was others property.That was breaking two letter of the R.O.L.E.S

I would be upset and angry at the person who did it. It is violating the r in the roles for respect and the o for others and the e for environment. The didn't have any respect for that's students phone and property. They disobeyed the o because they took another students things. Then they didn't respect e because they disturbed the whole class and the schedule. I have to say I am sad that happened. So to sum it up I would be sad.

If my phone would have been been thrown in the toilet and sat and drowned I would be very disappointed... Because these things we have now a days are very expensive. To have something like this happen is just like burning 400 bucks on the spot. Plus you could have all personal information on your mobile device. Some one could take all the info and use it themselves for fun and or to make you look bad... (CyberBullying)

If someone threw MY $500 down the toilet, I would be very mad. It voilates the R.O.L.E.S. definately. Respect Other's Environment. Basically give them personal space and always ask before you take. Secondly, I would not be able to think anyone is honest to me. What do you know? It could be a friend maybe! I really hope that the person who suffered that tragedy will soon get his OR her iPhone back running.

Since I mentioned iPhone...there is a new iPhone 5C soon to be released that got accounced today!

For all of those iOS device holder.....THERE IS GOING TO BE iOS 7 on SEPT. 18 I can't wait to update my new iPad.

If my phone was thrown down the toilet I would be super disappointed because I have a lot of personal information on it, also I spend a lot of time on it "not only playing games" but other things like the internet or you tube for looking how to do things. So.. I would be pretty disappointing at who did this because it is exactly doing the opposite of the R.O.L.E.S and the 5 c's.

If my phone was thrown in the toilet I would be extremely disappointed because the person could have looked through ALL of my personal information. Another reason why I would be disappointed would be because in the afternoon we just had an assembly about R.O.L.E.S. (respect-others-environment-learning-self) last but not least I would also be worried about why did that person take my phone when theres lots of other phones to take.

Today Im very shocked that someone would not respect the R.O.L.E.S
when we have been practising them this year.I would be very sad and angry if soeone took my property and totally trashed it.

If my iPod was stolen and thrown in the toilet I would very disappointed and mad at whoever did it. Whoever did this was definetely not following the R.O.P.E.S. If I was the person who did it I would be disappointed in myself for doing that. If someone did that to you, how would you feel?

If my iPhone was taking and thrown into the toilet I would be pretty mad and disappointed, especially because of the assembly about roles not to long before this happened, I am pretty disappointed with our class so far and I don't think this was a good start to our school year at all.

If i were to have my only device stolen thrown in the toilet with an $80 case missing I would honestly be enraged at the thought that that happened. id think that this person whoever did this is definitely not following the rules of the R.O.L.E.S.

If that happened to me I would be very disappointed.
I don't think I would be able to trust any one else again.
I really hope that some one who did it owns up to it.
They are also breaking the ROLES
O They took property
L they disturbed the learning environment by making us miss our math so we could talk about it
S they are going to get caught and suspended so there just hurting there self.
And there's plenty of other stuff that other people are making to.

I think I would be very mad and upset and I would for the person who did it and tell them personally to go to the office. I would feel like i was disrespected and violated especially if they look throug my picture and I think I would feel like punching them (not actually)

If my I pod was taken and found in a toilet (even though I don't have one), I would be really mad and disappointed since we just had an assembly today about the R.O.L.E.S . That is not respecting others environment.

If my device was stolen, and thrown in to the toilet, I would have felt very disappointed and I would want to know who did it right away. This is disprespecting because, it is taking someone's phone or person item, then throwing it into the toilet. The person could have done alot of damage to the phone. If I found out who it was, I would definetely make them pay.

I don't know what I would do if my iPhone was stolen. Just the fact that my iPhone was sitting on my desk as well as the student whose iPhone was stolen makes me shudder. I just can't believe that any of my classmates would do something that disrespects all the roles as well as all the rules here at Hillcrest. If my iPhone was stolen, I would feel terrible. Someone might have gotten onto my phone and seen my personal information.

If somebody took my iPhone and had the guts to throw it in the toilets, I'd be pretty sad, of course I would, but I would also be angry because that was my personal property and they had no right to do something like that and when they find whoever did it I fully expect them to pay for everything that was damaged.

If someone had done that to one of my devices. I would feel very upset because that is my property and I would not anyone touching it without getting my permison. And I would not feel as safe knowing that things could get stolen at every given time. Also they are not respecting the roles.

If some one stole my iphone I would be really sad, mad, disappointed, and scared that someone could and did just come in and take my property. One of the things that make me even more sad, mad, disappointed, and scared is that a student stole my iphone. Stealing someone's iphone is not respecting others or (in ropes) property.

If someone was to steal my phone and through it into a washroom I would be really mad. The person who stole the phone didn't follow any of the R.O.L.E.S, even after an assembly about respect. And they could cost someone a lot of money.
