TUESDAY: THE HILLCREST WINTER OLYMPICS

2 Person Bobsled

Today, the students created criteria for their upcoming gymnastics routines. They decided that the following areas will be assessed:
1.) Creativity
2.) Integration of different stations
3.) Short dance sequence
4.) Creating a pattern with their group members

Also, we got into the Olympic spirit today by participating in the Hillcrest Winter Games! We participated in our versions of speed skating, the skeleton, and the two person bobsled. Check out our Instagram site for pictures and videos!

The food i enjoyed eating in class today was what one of the things Jason brought it kind of tasted like a cinnamon bun.

I love to try food from around the world because you never know what's coming for you, and I also like it because different countries all have a different flavour in dishes. It is helping us to learn about different countries because what is inside their food is from the country. Every country has different animals, plants, fruits ect. Knowing what they are putting in the food helps to know what nature in their country is like.

My favorite dish from today in class was Bul go gi, I have always liked it in restaurants and at home. One recipe you should try is egg bread, it sounds really weird at first but it is actually good! It is not popular, if you search it on Google, you will get other egg bread recipes. First you want to get a cup of pancake mix and put milk in, the amount of both doesn't matter too much, try to make it not too soggy. Next, then crack an egg in the same cup and microwave for 2 minutes. Then you pull it out (it's very hot) and take the bread out with a knife going around the sides. Alternatively, you can search "korean egg bread" on Google. I like trying different foods from different cultures because you have never tried that kind of food and it can be a new taste, bad or good. It helps us learn by giving us some information on what the country is like and what they enjoy to eat.

My Favorite dish from today was definitely the Korean Bolgogi that teddy bear brought in! A recipe that I wanted to share with the class was how to make teriyaki chicken from Japan. There are many different ways that japanese restruants make Teriyaki chicken, but when it's made by japanese people it is usually the best. I like trying food around the world to test out what food is like in that country and what food is popular there. It will either be really good, okay or bad so why not take the chances? I thought that all the dishes from today were really tasty and it was interest to have a feel of different countries and their foods. It helps us learn about how they make food their and even the country's culture.

This dish is called cheese tortellini that is what the link to recepie is for. And I think it is good to know about others cultural foods because once you have tried them for yourself you would get a better science of what kind of food they would like and or prefer to eat.

My favorite dish from today was the bread that Jason brought it. The dish is Korean pancake called buchimgae. I usually like to eat when it's rain. Great job on your response, but I have some feedback for you. First of all, change all of the 'i's to 'I's. Also, Hailey is spelled that way, but you still shouldn't put her name on here so put her fake name. Don't put it now though. Capitalize the first letter of each sentence of each sentence, and it also seems like you don't have the last part of the response there.

I like trying different foods because it is nice so if I travel somewhere I will be able to try the new food. It could help you because you can understand if the country eats more seafood or something like that.

My favorite dish was the Korean Golgi Teddy Bear brought in. A recipe I want to share is Chapati Chips.
Ingredients:
1 or 2 thin chapati
Oil
Tomato sauce

Instructions:
First take frying pan and pour some oil and let it be for 2 minutes.Then cut chapati in your favourite shape.Then deep fry chapatis. Fry it and when it becomes crispy take it out and serve it with tomato sauce.

I was not in class but I think most of you would enjoy is tomato and onion but it tastes like some meat but it is why you out salt on it to trick your mouth. Two I known how to make it from my parents.

My favorite food was the bulgogi and the springrolls. It tasted fantastic I wanted more. I just love the taste for the korean dish because I ate something like that and it was delicious. I didn't research about any of these food.

Today at school some of us brought snacks from our cultures to share with the class. I loved the dish that I brought, Hungarian Turos Taska. (Sounds like turosh taska) I would like to share with the class a recipe that I found online, because I am vegetarian. The dish is a vegan dark chocolate cake with walnuts and pecans. The dish i like the most was the Korean BBQ it was amazing and I wanna make it at home. The dish I would like bring is my own thing it is my special egg sandwich and they taste really good. I like tasting diffrent foods is because I really like food and trying new things and being open minded about it. It is important to taste food from other cultures because well just to explore your taste buds and be open minded about it.

My favorite ones were the ones Jason and Chae-Eun brought, those were so good to crave for and even those Lady Fingers Maven brought.

I like to enjoy other cultural foods so I can get a different taste of what food is like, not the same food all over again. I think its important so know since we know how they prepare the foods, how they would cook the foods, and we would learn how to eat in a different style. Like how Filipinos use their hands to eat sometimes if they don't have any cutlery.

My favorite food from class today was teddy bears it was so good!

Name:Chilled Spring Pea Soup with Crab Salad, Creme Fraiche, and Mint

Recipe/ingredients:

For the soup
Kosher salt
1/2 cup sliced shallots
1/4 cup sliced garlic
1 tablespoon toasted coriander seeds
Freshly cracked black pepper
1 Fresno chile, sliced, seeds and stem included
4 cups shelled English peas
3 to 4 cups creme fraiche, cold
1 small bunch mint, leaves picked
For the crab salad
2 cups Jonah crabmeat, picked through for shells
1/4 cup torn mint leaves
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
1/4 cup sliced scallions
2 limes, zested and juiced
2 pickled Fresno chiles, minced, recipe follows
8 snow peas, julienned
PICKLED CHILES:

2 pounds Fresno chiles
Sherry vinegar
Sugar
Kosher salt
2 bay leaves
2 tablespoons coriander seeds
2 tablespoons black peppercorns
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
4 sprigs fresh marjoram
3 garlic cloves

I like trying foods from different cultures because it can give me a sense of what the like to eat and it usually tastes really good
I helps us learn what type of stuff they cook with which helps us know what they can grow so what kind of climate they have

I loved the bulogogi, it was really good. The link will be at the bottom of the page. It is a recept for oliebollen which is a dutch treat. I love try different food to see what different cultures eat. Also, we get to learn what we like and what we don't like.

1.) I really liked the Barbacue beef.
2.) This recipe is the Wienerschnitzel

1 1/2 pounds veal cutlets

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

2 eggs

1 teaspoon minced parsley

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 pinch ground nutmeg

2 tablespoons milk

1 cup dry bread crumbs

6 tablespoons butter

4 slices lemon
3.)Its good to try different foods because you get to learn how they eat thier food and how they make it (if you ask)
you also get to taste different things in the food which I think is pretty cool

I really liked trying all the different foods today they were all so good. One dish famous in my culture is perogies they are so yummy and good. I think trying different foods helped us learn what the other people have basically everyday thank you everyone for bring the food in ..

My favorite dish in class was probably either the bun things Jason brought or what Che-uin brought!

I can't find a recipe for it since my mother made it but she makes these things called monster cookies and their really good

Eating different food expands your horizons when it comes to food, and helps get people out of their comfort zones.

Not trying to offend anyone or they're culture, but I didn't really enjoy any of them. I'm normally a pretty picky eater so don't take any offence.
