The division 4 students have been working hard on the 6 big Assessment for Learning (AFL) Practices since September. They are becoming more comfortable with AFL and they know what it will take to improve their learning. We do our best to use AFL in our learning in school and outside of school and it includes the following:
1.) Clear Learning Intentions
2.) Student Generated Criteria
3.) Descriptive Feedback
4.) Powerful Questions
5.) Self and Peer Assessment
6.) Taking Ownership of their learning
1.) MATH 6 - The Quiz will only cover Chapter 9 Lesson 1 to 3 (no division)
MATH 7 - Any assigned work.
2.) WRITE A RESPONSE: If you were to do give a news report on the news articles you read in class today, what would it look like? Be sure to do some investigative research - watch the news tonight to see what information they include. Type out a paragraph outlining what you would say. Your short summary of your topic should include the usual information. Your paragraph must include the following information:
a.) A creative title
b.) Introduction
c.) 5 W's and H (Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How) H
d.) End with your opinion - remember to back up your opinion with at least one supporting sentence (Examples, statistics, proof, evidence, etc)
e.) Provide a link to one of the news articles.
