Fit-kid Trainers undergo rigorous training!

Today, the students walked over to Clayton Secondary to watch a play put on by the Grade 10 students. On the walk over, it was interesting to see how the students behaved in a large group setting. The students will continue to practice the R.O.L.E.S. at school and within the community. It is very important to do this because the students are always representatives of Hillcrest Elementary. (to be updated)

1.) MATH 6: Any assigned work
MATH 7: Make sure you know how to use your fraction strips to add and subtract. Complete your corrections (2.4 of the text)

2.) SCIENCE:

Complete your drawings/images for your project by tomorrow.
Make sure you have coloured and fine-lined your drawings.

1.) POST A RESPONSE:

Today, we walked over to Clayton secondary to watch a play the Grade 10 students prepared for us.
During the walk to the high school and back to Hillcrest, what did you notice?
Did the students follow the R.O.L.E.S.? If not, how did they not follow them?
What would be considered an acceptable way to walk to and from the school within our community?

the ROLES were not being followed as much as teachers would like, the kids were walking on the grass (including me sometimes) and they were yelling when we cam into the school and I think we could have been more better in listening.

I noticed some Students wanting to hitch hike with random people driving by in their vehicles. I also noticed students disrespecting the R.O.L.E.S. I don't think lots of people were following the R.O.L.E.S. People were not following the R.O.L.E.S because they were stepping on the flowers in someone's garden, screaming, and not moving to the side for other pedestrians to get past. An acceptable way of walking to Clayton would be to follow the R.O.L.E.S by not stepping on others people property respect the Law (hitch hiking is Illegal) and to not be so loud.

During the walk there and back i noticed some students were not paying attention as much as they should and that a lot of students took up the hole side walk. I don't think all the students were flowing the R.O.L.E.S because they were taking up almost all the side walk and talking to much that some time they were looking where they were going. A acceptable way to walk to and from the school would be walking in rows of 2 or 3 maybe and on one side of the sidewalk in case of others pedestrians and to look up my not just walk and talk.

1 I noticed that people were almost always being loud 2 almost every one ways being loud like i wrote before 3 what I think is acceptable way to walk there is in a orderly Fashion.

When we walked to Clayton there was people pushing and shoving, being very loud and yelling, and not respecting the roles. An acceptable way to walk to Clayton would be to not make a lot of noise, walk respectfully, and stay with a group.

I noticed that some of the kids where playing with tennis balls they bought and almost hitting people. I also noticed that we where taking up most or all of the side walk and it was hard for people to get by. Some people were not doing any of that and being respectful and polite. I would consider a walk that would follow the roles would be where you are walking down only one side of the road and are respectful of others space and belongings.

On our way to and back from Clayton, I noticed that not everybody was listening at all and some people outside of clayton were, walking on the grass and even playing with tennis balls outside of the entrance. I don't think that most of the students were following the R.O.L.E.S because, most of the students had to be reminded numerous times to do something before they actually do it because they were to busy socializing with each other. An acceptable way to walk to and from clayton would be to walk quietly that way people would be able to hear the teachers and walk single file and away from people they know they are going to want to chat with. Adding to this, another way to walk acceptably to and from clayton is to not bring objects that will distract you and others and get them to socialize.

On our walk to Clayton Secondary School, not everyone was behaving, I got pushed away to the grass a few times and people were playing with a tennis ball. We were following the R.O.L.E.S. most of the time except when we were walking on people's property. Next time, I think that everyone should line up 2 by how many people in the school. We could also try to stay on the right side and let people pass. One more thing we can do is staying away from people's lawns.

On our way to Clayton, I did not think we were doing the good job walking like Grade. 6 and 7's should be. We were not respecting the nearby buildings like houses because we walked on their properties, and for the shop, we were so loud that I think some people must of been annoyed. Also people were distracting people driving by waving at them. Next time we do this, we should make sure we don't get loud, and we have to know to walk on the right side of the road. Also when we entered Clayton Heights, we got told to get out at first because of how loud we were. Next time we all need to remember to follow the R.O.L.E.S.

On the way to the high school I think only half of the students in our class were behaving themselves on the way. The other half were fooling around and walking close to the road. I think that if we are walking anywhere as a class we should follow the R.O.L.E.S.

On the way to Clayton, I do not think we were respectful because we were so loud that when we got there they had to tell us to wait outside because we were so loud. There could of been a baby sleeping in a house that's hard to get to sleep and it's does not help that we sound like 300 elephant's storming done the sidewalk. But on the way back a kid was running across the street going back and forth and he could have run over. We were not respecting the R.O.L.E.S at all today from my perspective.

On our way to and from the high school we were very loud and obnoxious. People seemed to be kind of annoyed and we even got kicked out of the high school at first. I mean its ok if we talk but people were screaming and punching each other. So we did not follow the roles at all. Respect: We were just loud. Others: We were waving and yelling distracting others. Learning: We weren't really paying attention or listening. Environment: We were walking on peoples lawn. Self: We weren't respecting ourselves because we were leaving bad impressions to others. I would say if we stayed to one side, kept our hands to ourselves, and been quieter it would have been acceptable.

In my point of view... No one was following the roles. Because so many people were jumping around the road. We were not respecting any if the property around us, like walking all over the grass and gardens in front if the houses and such. Also, no one gave respect to anyone els trying to walk on the sidewalk. Like how when a lady trying to walk her dog and her baby stroller across the sidewalk and we never moved over to let her get by. She just walked all around us onto the road. So in all, we did not respect anyone by following the roles and being respecting grade seven and six students.

On the way to Clayton we were not respectful and not following the roles. We was loud and not walking on side way. Next time we should walk in side way not being loud and following roles.

Today when we went to Clayton we were ok, but to be honest I wasn't expecting everyone not to talk and walk in single file or anything, and I'm sure the teachers didn't either. I mean we obviously could have been better and not walked on the grass, or be really loud, but we weren't that bad. Next time we could have not walked on the grass or been super loud, but we were still ok.

Today, on the walk to Clayton Secondary, I noticed many kids yelling and screaming, as well as walking on people's lawns. This is disrespecting the 'Environment' part of ROLES and the 'Others' part. If people weren't screaming and instead quietly chatting, or not walking on people's gardens and instead walking on the sidewalk, I think we would have represented Hillcrest a lot better.

I think during the walk to Clayton heights, we weren't exactly respect ingot he roles. There were people being very noisy and disturbing, people walking on others property, people petting dogs (which was holding up the line!), pretending to be hitch hikers, and walking on the road. Next time we should definitely follow the roles a lot better, and everyone should be listening to teachers instructions better. I also noticed that some people waiting at the bus, got intimidated since some people were walking so up close to them! I think that if we need to walk to Clayton again, separating the classes would probably help as we'll.

I noticed that kids were taking up all of the sidewalk when other people needed to walk there to. I don't think this is following the roles. Also people were being really loud especially when we were outside of the high school. I think that next time we should go down at different times so there are not as many kids.

also when we were crossing the streets it took along time. Me personally if I was the driver I would be so annoyed at how long it took.

When we walked to Clayton we were not the best but not that bad from what I saw because like what SpongeBob said. Everyone should not expect us all to be like in rows 2 by 2 and also I thought that some students should have walking where they belong not on the road or in peoples yards. I think that a good way to walk down their is to stay off peoples houses and not hog up the whole sidewalk. The Students were and were not following the Roles. I think that because a lot of the people there were not jumping around or running around, where the other half was running around jumping up and down the sidewalk on to the road then back onto the sidewalk.

I noticed that most students just walked everywhere filling the sidewalk so people wouldn't get through, and they were messing around and all that bad stuff. It was like they didn't even represent our school, like they were just some teens walking to random spots. So no most didn't follow the roles. Next time I think we should walk on the right side in a single or double line as in side by side and then we could walk, as long as we stay the same order the last time.

I think that we were not following the R.O.L.E.S because there were people trying to hitch hike. There were also people who were walking in other peoples gardens. That is very disrespectful because it is somebody else's property. We should just walk and be not to loud and just walk in a strait line. Also i think we should split up so there not as many kids.

I say for the most part people followed the roles but some people were fooling around and wouldn't let people drive through the roads and started pushing people and my friend was stepped on and push around and some people were walking on the road and in front of people.

Where I was I did not see many peole not respecting the roles if any, we did wave to people but only when waved to. I do agree that we were a bit too loud when comin into Clayton heights so I think we cod improve on that

I think they could have followed the R.O.L.E.S. better because they were taking up almost the whole sidewalk a lot of the time and walking one the grass. I think the teachers wanted as to walk in rows of two maybe and not take up the whole sidewalk. Also, to not walk on the grass.
