WEDNESDAY: PARTS OF SPEECH

9/18/2013

Today, students continued learning more about 'PARTS OF SPEECH'. Check this song out so you don't forget what they are!

LEARNING INTENTION: To explain the difference between nouns and verbs. To identify and highlight nouns and verbs in sentences/paragraphs from specific readings.

1.) LA: Complete parts of speech worksheet if you haven't completed it yet.

2.) MATH: Complete Multiplication worksheets (front and back)

3.) FORMS: Return all forms (Media consent, immunization forms, planner money, Gmail/Google Drive forms, etc).

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

Create a sentence that includes at least 3 different parts of speech!
List your nouns and verbs! Just like 'ICESTONE' did in her response!
It must be a complete sentence with a subject and a predicate.
Make it interesting!

Ok but An adjective modifies a noun or a pronoun by describing, identifying, or quantifying words. An adjective usually precedes the noun or the pronoun which it modifies. 2 and The verb is perhaps the most important part of the sentence. A verb or compound verb asserts something about the subject of the sentence and express actions, events, or states of being. The verb or compound verb is the critical element of the predicate of a sentence. 3 An adverb can modify a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a phrase, or a clause. An adverb indicates manner, time, place, cause, or degree and answers questions such as "how," "when," "where," "how much".
