WEDNESDAY: Political Parties Group Project

Today, the students got into a very interesting discussion about politics. Mrs. D. and I were impressed with the amount of knowledge the students have gained through their readings, classwork, and staying informed through current events. Many students have become deeply engaged with the 2015 elections. The students were introduced to their Political Parties Group project and will begin it in class tomorrow. The students will have their choice of how they present their work.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to bring an old shirt and pants to school tomorrow! We will start our Jackson Pollock painting lesson tomorrow and you don't want to get your school clothes dirty! Parents, if you could provide your child with one of your old shirts, it should be good enough for our painting lesson.

Pg. 87 Mid Chapter Review / Mark all questions at home.
Quiz tomorrow on solving problems using organized lists - Chapter 3 Lesson 6.

2.) POST A RESPONSE:

We have started digital photography and are slowing transitioning to visual and graphic art. Today, I want you to play around with the following websites:
Pic Monkey
Pixlr Express
Use any of your alphabet photos and see what you can create with these two sites. Remember, the creativity is in your hands. Click here to access your photos.
Practice taking photos at home and around your neighbourhood!
Upload your edited photo to this Google Slideshow and put your images/pics on the first blank slide you see.
Add a comment to tell your classmates what functions you used!

@Mr.Hong Me and Dylan's pictures aren't there but I think it's because we took all our pictures on the iPad because we didn't get to use a camera.

Upload the new one and delete the old one and use that. You cannot upload it to the class one because Mr.Hong owes that you have to share it with him and in the meantime use it from your drive.

If i delete it i can never get 1 like it again its a giant vase of flowers i saw in a hotel in palm springs my dad isn't here and my mom doesn't know where the camera is or how to download pictures onto my laptop and i tried to upload the new 1 and it didn't work I'm stuck it won't let me copy and past it in google drive.

What I first did when I edited my picture was change the contrast. then to make it look a bit more unique I added a sepia affect. From there I added a couple blur affects and shading techniques and then a rotated it ever so slightly to get it more like an i. After that I really liked the outcome because it is a fall looking picture and it diffently has more contrast in it.

@ Everyone - Be sure to put your name on a slide to reserve it!

After you create the image in pic monkey, save your image to the desktop and then drag and drop it into the slide.

@ Mr.Hong, I got my photo and it was the one of the fire alarm resembling a T. I went to use Pic Monkey and Pixler express and they edit my photo because I don't have adobe flash player on my computer and I am not allowed to download it. What should I do?

@ Pebbles - Your computer won't let you download it? Hmmmm, I think you can download the picmonkey app or the pixlr app in the app store.

@ Mr. Hong, I searched both of them on the App store and they do not show up there. I could always just do it at lunch tomorrow because it will not work here. Sorry this is frustrating!

My picture isn't showing up on the slideshow it's showing up as a grey exlamation mark.

Yes. It works for a few seconds and then it turns grey.

I used pic monkey and so the first thing I did was I changed the contrast and then add and boarder. after that I just saved it to my google slide show.
