It relates because gangs for no reason just kill people that didnt do anything and also peoples husbands or just gang members enter other peoples houses and start beating them up to death. They might even get to the shooting part. Its message was that the teacher was trying to teach the studets that every one should be friendly to each other, not fighting everytime someone white or dark skinned coloured talked. The teacher also made the students play a ''game'' called '' the line game'' so that the students see each other and relise they are not enemies and that everyone has the same problem, that they shouldnt fight eachother.

The movie that we watched today was great the message that i found was that people in gangs are just ordinary people doing what other people talked them into doing. The teacher in the movie was great she made them play a game called the line game and the purpose of the game was to make the kids in the class see what they have in common with eachother. another message that spoke out to me in the line game was when she asked them of howmany friends they saw die in a gang fight and she went up to about five or more and to see half of the class standing on the line thinking of those people was very sad. Also there was this one teacher and i would relate her to a nazi souldier and i would say that the kids in that class plus the teacher were like some jewish people she would just treat them with no respect and she had no hope in them. I really enjoyed the movie.

I did enjoy the movie because it was very interesting. I think the message was that gangs had all the power and they were constantly fighting for territory and alot of those people that are in gangs are homeless or kicked out by there parents but most of the gangs commited crimes but did not get cought that is why the gangs hate eachother. It realated to persicution becuse most people who were in gang fights lost people and if you are a different race the other gangs will beat you because you are that race.

The message that the teacher was trying to send to the students was it doesnt madder what color you are, and that every one should be treated fairly. Instead of beating people up just because of there culture or if there white or black. It relates because gang members can just come into your house and beat you up to death for no reason. The teacher also made them play a game called the line game and when they played that game it made them realize that they arent the only who has loosed a family member or a bestfriend .

I thought the movie we watched today was very moving and i thought the message was that found was that every one is equal and should be treated fairly also there should just be peace in the world because if there isn't peace and everyone hated each other then everyone would be scared to just walk out the door to go to school or just anywere no one would want to go out side when there isn't peace.

@ Everyone - Just a thought....how does the movie relate to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms?

I really enjoyed the movie " Freedom Writers " that we watched today in class, it was a very inspirational and powerful movie. In my opinion, the message that they were trying to give out is that no matter what situation you are in, you can break free and change for the good. Freedom Writers is based on a true story. Erin Gruwell, earns a job for teaching a class of chaos. And majority of the students are involved in fights, and have guns with them, living a life that everyone would be scared of. But Ms.Gruwell, changes their lives. Teaching them all the way to grade 12, and some till University. It's very inspiring of how much you can make an impact in some peoples lives.

It relates to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms more than you would think. In the movie, each race are in the same group as the same race. Everyone fought for respect or territory. Everyone thought that their race was better than anyone else's. But every race is equal, as it says in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

I enjoyed the movie I thought it was a very interesting movie. In my opinion the message of the movie was that everyone should be treated equaly. I think this was the message because of how they showed the gangs and how they were fighting because they were differeent races. But in the end nobody wanted to fight each other because of the teacher. She made this happen by letting them see that they have lots of things in common and by taking them on field trips. In my opinion it relates to persecution because the people in the gangs would beat other people up and kill them because of there race. That is bullying and racisim.

I really enjoyed the movie that we watched this morning. I think that the meaning is that it doesn't matter what people think about you because what reallu matters is what you think about yourself. This is important because of the fact that if people keep telling you what you are, you will eventually turn into what they say. The people outside of the classroom said that the students were completely made up of violence and in the end, most of them were. Besides that, it also gave me a connection to our persecution unit in which we learned about discrimination between races. In this case, it would be the African-American discrimination that occurred in the world. Also, this would go with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms that we did a Prezi on recently. The Right that this movie shows is the Right of Equality. In here, the caucasian race was sort of at the top.

The movie "Freedom Writers" was quite interesting and motivational. I think the message was that you can change your life no matter how bad it gets. I also think it was about how you shouldn't judge others because of their background. This movie relates to our persecution unit because of how innocent people were treated unfairly or killed by gangs. Also it talked about the holocaust and how many Jewish people were killed.

I thought that the movie "Freedom Writers" was very good. It gave a very strong message that tells you that you can always change. Change for the better and look to the future. The past can't be changed but the future can. In the movie a teacher named Erin Gruwell changed the lives of many kids that were involved with gangs. She had them write books about their past and if they let her she would read them. Everybody gave her permission. She went on to change their lives with books, field trips, motivational speakers, and a lot of courage. She changed the kids from killers that beat each other up to friends. Family. This was a very inspirational movie that I'm sure many of us will remember.

I enjoyed the movie Freedom Writers. I found the movie to be very inspirational and emotional. The movie showed how gangs had and the power and there was a lot of violence due to people fighting for territory and how a teacher helps a class set their differences aside and show them that they are all equal. The teacher also made them play a game called the line game to show the kids that they are not different from each other. In the movie I found the teacher to be very nice on how she fought for her students and showed that that they are important and they don't diserve to be in gangs. The movie related to the novels we read on persecution like how the black people thought that they were unimportant and cocasian people were the leaders.

I extremely enjoyed the movie we watched in class today. The freedom writers was an inspiring and eye opening film with a powerful message. This movie made me think about how lucky I am to be living in a safe place where I am not threatened with a gun every time I step out my door. Unfortunately this is the hard reality of many young teens that grew up in dangerous places. In the beginning it was race against race, and not only two races, but four. It was a tense environment where trouble was bound to be stirred. But, by the end of the movie these kids came together. They became a family, which goes to show that your race doesn’t define you. We are, are own people and stereotyping is wrong. But that exactly what this group of teens did at first and that’s why they were all turned against each other. They blamed their problems on the people around them because that’s all they knew to do, that’s what they were told growing up. Taught from a young age that the other races were the cause of their problems and you looked out for your own kind and nobody else. Really you can’t blame them for how they felt about each other in the beginning. This movie was extremely powerful and it made me realize how terrible and out of hand things can get so quickly. It made me stop and appreciate the things I’m blessed with, knowing that I have a life and opportunities that so many, probably more deserving, will never get. I recommend this movie to anyone reading this comment, it’s a great one.

I extremely enjoyed "The Freedom Writers." I think its message was that even though you're a different race than others, you can still do things no one can. Also this reminds me of a movie we watched earlier, "The Blind Side." In addition to that, I feel very to be living in Canada where I'm safe. In the end, the teacher made them realize there were lots of people that's suffering more than them and stoped them from fighting each other. I think the most powerful scene was when the teacher made the play the "line game" and made them realize that they weren't the only ones who were suffering. I would definitly recommend this movie and give it a 10 out of 10 for that powerful message.

'Freedom Writers' was an inspiring movie. I think the message of the movie is to treat everyone equally whether they have different skin color or not. These gang kids in the movie were killing each other because they had different skin color. Also,no matter what happens, they had to protect and help their own group (everyone was hanging out with their own kinds.) We should never EVER discriminate or leave somebody out because of their skin color.

The movies message was that every day they would walk out of there door and they would be scared of someone shot them. It's dangerous to go out there. They all protected there tribes if someone from another tribe came close they would beat them. Erin GurWall changed there lives. I thought ths movie was really good.

The Movie Freedom Writers was a very inspiring movie. The message was that even if you are a different religion or black or white you can always be friends or even family and when they walked out the door they would get shot even when they wouldent leave the house people would go in the house and kill people, I think that would be terifying just walking out of your house with a bunch of guns banging to you, specially when you are at a very young age and you dont know whats happening. I was very inspired from the teacher because she spent all her time with these people that wouldent listen and didnt want to learn but than the teacher was the hero because she started playing games with them for an example the line game that tought them that they were all pratically the same and she gave them books so they could write every thing that happened to them in the pass which I thought was a great idea because It shows people not every one has a nice life also it shows what horrible things they whent through. I cant beleive just one teacher changed there lives I really enjoyed this movie it was great because it shows people how good we have it here.

The movie related to the novels because there was a lot of percicution and racism such as people just killing each other beacuse of what skin color and killed some people even for no reason for territory and respect. What the movie was basicly about was the kids started out really bad getting intp gang shooting and all that then this new teacher gets this job at hte hiighschoool and as to teach all these kids that dont listen and get into fights at school and eventually the teacher makes a step and tries her hardest to change them so they end up getting addicted to this novell and they got the really old lady that wrote it whent and read there letters that they had to wright and one of hte bad kids even said that she was his hero than they all wrote there own novels called freedom writers. they showed racism becasue the teahers thought just becasue they where balck they where gangsters and bad kids and didnt want them in there class becasue of that even thouggh they turned out to be really good kids Comments are closed.
