Pollock Abstract Expressionism

Today, students learned about using strong nouns and verbs in their writing. Mr. Redican taught them the difference between telling and showing in writing. Students were focused during their writer's workshop and were deeply engaged in their work. Mr. Redican is an experienced writer and using his strengths to teach students students the traits of good writers.

SLPAT SWISH SPLIOT!!

Jackson Pollock let's out his emotions by splattering paint on a canvas and dripping it on it.

During this I felt sad kinda mad because of something in class although I was kinda happy that I got to let out my emotions.
I think I did well on this art and it likes pretty LIT on the wall outside.🔥🔥🔥

L.R. Jackson Pollock Art

This lesson was about an epic way of expressing emotions. His art was new yet so dumb looking, there was more then enough history to deny that. The history in one piece of painting goes a long way. I don't want to explain all that. THAT'S how much their is. When i was in grade 3 my teacher took us to a museum and we were free to explore the place and take notes of the intuit carvings. Then my friend pointed out one of Jackson Pollock's pieces and i was like, "bruh, even i can do that" Now when i see one of them, there's a lot of history behind and they can express emotions

Splat!! That is the cool sound of paint as it hit the canvas. On Friday we did a splatter art. It was fun because you get to express your emotions. If you are sad you could use blue. If you are happy you could use a bright color like yellow or orange. When I was painting I was happy and used bright colors to express my happiness.
When I was using the white paint I was calm and relaxed, and to me white is calming.

Jackson Pollock, he painted different from other painters,his art is abstract and know now as abstract expressionist. His artwork is random and not planed out at all. He paints with his emotions,expressing himself by dipping the paint and splattering it on the canvas. His colors express how he felt when he painted at that moment.
Conclusion
I enjoyed this art lesson because I was able to express myself with colors also I think this style of art is cool and everyone can do it.

{Jackson Pollock}

Drip Drip Drip Splat Splash!!!! that's all he heard because he was a hard working artist trying to find his style and place in life. Despite getting harsh criticism of his art he continued it anyways. Action painting was his style instead of playing by the book just like the other artists he wanted to do something new don't get me wrong there are other well known artist that didn't follow by the book either. I can tell that Jackson Pollock was really dedicated towards his art by looking at his art and which way the paint went and the strokes of the paint you can tell how he was feeling. Art is a very strong thing to master I say master because you can't cave in because of the criticism that you get you have to be by your art just likes it's your child you can't abandon your art you have to show it to the world even if it's going to get criticism. Art is not just a canvas and a paint brush!!! art can be anything statues are art architecture is clearly art graffiti is art anything is art if you put your mind to it .Art is scary because it can lead you to feel many ways it can even lead you to Suicide if you think about it. While I was looking up Jackson Pollocks art work I saw a specific painting it was called "Going West" personally I thought it was super pretty because it reminded me of old westerns movies and I was looking at the sky in the painting because it kinda resembled "Starry Night" by "Vincent Van Gogh". To me I think Jackson started getting popular was when a really rich art collector named Peggy Guggenheim asked him if he can do a mural of her he said yes and she was really pleased with his work that she even gave him a exhibition in the art gallery. Peggy obviously thought his work was nice because if she hated his style she wouldn't of asked him to make her a mural. As time went on Jackson Pollock is well knowned artist and is inspirational to other artist that want to fined there art style.

{ My Thought}

I really had fun learning about Jackson Pollock I thought it was cool when we went outside to do action art outside I felt happy because it was an activity that we all got to do and that we can show how we felt when I was in the line watching my classmates picking there colours the only thing I was thinking about was what colour I was gonna pick and not how I felt. The colour I grabbed was pink I didn't know what pink expressed as an emotion . I should of grabbed purple because I said I was feeling fine and I was calm and purple to me is fine!!!. I hope we do other art lessons like the Jackson Pollock one!!!!.

Mr.Hongs Question. Did the overall collaboration with your classmates help create a masterpiece ?.

My Answer. I think we did because we all did our best to participate even if we didnt want but i think it was a great way to show how we each felt

I decided to give Jackson Pollock his own section because I thought he deserves his own section so that's why it's not mashed up as one big section. I will be back to revise if I get spelling feedback and other stuff!!.

SPLOOSH! Everyone enjoyed doing the Jackson Pollock painting. They were able to express their emotion by the splatter painting we did, and it helped us learn more about Jackson Pollock. What emotions I did at the splatter painting was happy and creative, and the colors I did was blue and pink. I think Jackson Pollock did a really good job making the splatter painting.

The splatter painting can also be very useful. Because, what if the person wants to talk about his or her problems, or how they feel. Some people want to express their feelings by art sometimes too. If people are mad, sad, happy, or what kind of emotions their feeling right now, they could just pour it in by the splatter paint. I mean, some people are just too shy to express their emotions by talking, so its very useful if they can just do the splatter paint.

I understand why Jackson Pollocks splatter paint became famous. Its useful, creative, and has a very deep meaning. I understand why some people like Jackson Pollock. Even me, from the activity we did which was the splatter paint, Im starting to admire Jackson Pollocks splatter painting. I mean, I always did the first time I saw his art, but what I mean is that Im admiring it more. I don't understand why some people would make fun of Jackson Pollocks art... He put all his effort into it, and tried his best and poured all his creativity to his art.

Splat! When the paint hits the canvas it makes this powerful sound. You could put how you are feeling on the canvas and it would relief for stress if you're mad you could put red or any colour that is the darkest color in the colours! Everyone from are class enjoyed doing this we got some laughs too it was funny when people started spraying all the paint over the canvas. I think it turned out really good but some of them have a lot of white space like mine I was a bit mad at first
